Whee! I don’t know about you but when my computer dies I am grieving badly. Especially, if everything wasn’t backed up like I wanted and the thought of buying a new computer would really make a big dent in my checkbook.
When my computer screen went black for the fourth time today and this time never came back to life I panicked and stuck it into its carry bag. I headed for the store I bought it at three years ago praying the warranty was still in effect.
Guess what? The warranty had expired two days ago. The man who looked at my computer said it was the mother board. I asked, “how long is a mother board under warranty since I just got a new one not to long ago. It was precisely a year and it is under warranty for thirty days.
My heart sunk and I mentally saw the price tag of another computer loom into the near future. But low and behold from the back room another man appeared. I will call him my angel of a computer in distress.
My angel asked the other man this question? “Whose electrical cord are you using to test the computer?”
His answer was, “hers.
My angel then said,” try ours.”
The man did as he was told and low and behold a miracle happened. My computer lit up like a Christmas tree. The screen came back on. My computer was working and I said a prayer of thank you to G-d.
The moral of this story is: Never throw away your computer until you really know what is wrong with it.
