We are all familiar with the various forms that water takes n our environment.  It exists in the vast oceans that cover more than half the surface of Earth. It exists in the clouds we see in the sky. We well know the rain and snow that falls from the sky consists of water in two of its various forms.
      Water vapor is always present in the air around us, and can form fog if the air becomes saturated with water vapor. The dew on the grass often seen in mornings is another form of water. Even the matter that make up our bodies consists mainly of water molecules. Water is also present on some of the outer planets, and even is present in the Oort cloud at the outer edge of our Solar System.
      Water, water everywhere!
      This simple molecule consisting of two atoms of hydrogen and one of oxygen can only be broken down b an electrolysis method. How simple yet durable is this form of matter. How did such a vast amount of water present in our universe come to be formed? It must be the product of some dramatic process that occurs in Nature. What could this process be?
      Water can be formed in the laboratory by passing an electric current through a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen gases in a closed container. Could a similar process have take place during the supernova which formed the elements, ,resulting in the production of the vast amounts of water we see today.
      The violence of this event might have released the oxygen formed in the core of a star and this element could have combined with hydrogen so prevalent in the universe.
