Widowed two years Meli, Melisande, mother of a toddler, youngest of the director’s of the museum is unnerved to realize herself being drawn to the handsome, personable expert on Egypt. She is not at all convinced that she is ready to initiate another romance. Adding a nice twist in this enjoyable tale is the burgeoning romance between Meli’s older brother John a long time bachelor and Ruth Bailey the unmarried fellow director in the museum. Iris Leach has composed a gripping quixotic romance populated with an appealing community of characters involved in an entertaining story line. Implicative of the turns and spins encountered in Ann Bachman’s Broken Dreams author Leach ingeniously fabricates a complex chronicle which ushers the reader on a merry chase to keep up. The developing tenderness between the characters is filled with convincing incertitude, heart pounding fire works and a stimulating outcome.
