 Kindergarten teacher Carrie Richards’ psychic ability is not always viewed as a good thing; Carrie does not share her ability with just anyone. When she meets handsome Dean Sheffield at the care center where her Grandmother Greta lives she realizes he is the incorporeal doppelgänger she has seen more than once. Dean has had more than one close call and thinks himself to be clumsy. As Carrie gets to know Dean and his family she realizes there is far more to those ‘accidents’ of his than meets the eye. Dean’s father John and his heart condition, Uncle Dick’s Alzheimers, cousin Alana’s job at the nursing facility caring for Carrie’s grandmother Greta all figure in the developing tale. Carrie and Dean are drawn to one another almost from the first. John’s unmarried sister Beverly has a hidden secret that is sure to surprise her family and the reader as well. His childless cousin Justin and his wife Natalie do as well. The death of Irma Hummell, mother of the estate’s gardener sets in motion a series of events sure to keep the äreader turning the pages as they try to anticipate the next part of the narrative. Writer Tun has produced a nice little romantic thriller in her The Doppelgänger Connection. Tun’s characters are nicely rounded, dialogue is believable, the storyline is both fiduciary and entertaining. The person responsible for Dean’s continuing problems may come as a real surprise to the reader. The situation prompting the various ‘accidents’ befalling Dean Sheffield is convincing. Carrie’s psychic abilities add to the drama. Filled with much of the intrigue employed by Christine Spindler in her Inspector Terry series The Doppelgänger Connection is a gripping account sure to please the most discerning reader. From the first lines as we walk into danger with Dean Sheffield right on to the near successful attempt to kill both Dean and Carrie the reader will find this a difficult book to put down. This is a nice book for a lazy afternoon of reading on the front porch. Entertaining read: Highly Recommended.
