Elizabeth Delisi is giving us a peek into another side of her wonderful talent. Mirror Images provides readers with a pleasing collection of superb, extraordinary tales presented by a master when it comes to storytelling. Mirror Images is an articulate, fear-inspiring assortment of narratives with each tale culminating in an unanticipated twist sure to astonish and satisfy even the most discriminating. This nicely crafted collection opens with Mirror Mirror when Cassie find an old compact. She begins to see disquieting images in the glass. Over time Cassie becomes hagridden with the mirror and its seeming cunning for foretelling the future. The Last Married Couple is a moving anecdote which examines the old question whether true affection is ever out of date. Isolated during a storm Marjorie hears the wooing call of inexplicable sibilant murmuring of voices in Snow Spirits. Rick Braxton is a delivery man who is not in the right occupation, what happens when he meets a surgeon of the same ilk is grist for Curiosity Killed the FPS Man. Neil Dallas, a has-been singer appears in Music Man. Perhaps the lovely woman who comes to all his concerts can protect him from what appears to be a violent advance toward devastation. Mirror Images is a must read for everyone who enjoys a spine tingling read. The six marvelous ‘Twilight Zone’ type narratives presented by Elizabeth Delisi in her well crafted anthology Mirror Images will keep the reader on the edge of the seat. The nicely penned works are irresistible from the opening lines in the first tale and right on throughout the work to the last spell binding narrative. This marvelous collection of modern day allegories will keep the reader turning page after page and wanting more when the last line is read. Writer Delisi does her usual outstanding job in hooking the reader into each story and holding them tight on their thrilling, exhilarative roller coaster through the potent tales. The absorbing psychological journey made by the reader into the abrasion of the mind as it’s grip on sanity is released is terrifying to behold. Not for the faint of heart!
