In 1962 several Oregon newspapers, over several months, ran articles about a dead animal found under a tree toppled by the October Columbus Day Storm winds. In the last few days on the blog Bigfoot Ballyhoo, four of these articles have been shared with the blog’s readers. The animal was said to be a bigfoot or sasquatch as the Indians called them. Many people were on the scene when it was discovered and during its removal. Numerous photos were taken and later the photos were labeled classified. The photos were required to be turned over to the Forest Service.  And now we have the newspaper articles. We thank the benefactor of these articles, since they did cost him/her several hundred dollars to purchase. And they retyped them on Ballyhoo (www.bigfootballyhoo.blogspot.com). What a fantastic gift to us “Bigfoot Believers”!

     And of course the lawyer, Debbie of Rand Corp Group, is continuing to work at  getting the classified file of the Columbus Day Storm Animal of 1962 opened to the public. When this happens, we will then be able to see the photos of the animal.

     Since I’m a believer in bigfoot, it annoys me when I mention bigfoot and am all but laughed at. I realize people simply know what they know. They know only what interests them. And so, these ones that laugh have not researched the animal and are happy to laugh it off as silly, lore, or make believe. How then do we get them to stop laughing? I believe we should get them “talking bigfoot.” How do we do this? One way I’ve thought of is to call local TV stations and have them check out the newspaper articles just recently submitted to Bigfoot Ballyhoo. Most stations have websites and so you can email this request.

     I would also request that any photos you have of what you think is a bigfoot be sent to Ballyhoo. We have discussed how difficult it is to get a photo of the animal, but that shouldn’t keep us from viewing a photo that we think is one. If you don’t have a scanner, you can take a photo of it with a good camera and email it to Ballyhoo. The email is on the blog. It’s been an exciting week in our quest to help “discover bigfoot” and to encourage “bigfoot talk.”
