Success Story
My story unfolds this way. I love poetry. I've written it since my early teen years. While a young adult I thought of myself as a poet and sculptor. I go crazy when I can get clay in my hands!
I met and married my heart-melting husband who thought being a writer sounded great.
Thirty or so years later, we opened a photography studio. We discovered that our photography worked best as photos for our articles to Oregon Coast Magazine, Oregon Magazine, Propeller and many more.
After our work was published we bought into our local weekly newspaper. I (Linda) enjoyed being the Seniors' editor and responsible for three pages of the paper. I quit the paper and wrote full time, finishing our novel, Forced Blood The Norseman.
While I wrote the novel, I'd been in contact with author, Janet Dailey, who I briefly met as a young woman. She said when we finished the novel, she'd put us in contact with her agent.
We finished the book. She put us in contact with her New York Agent. He was quick to say Historical Novels were in a "soft market" right now. So, I thank Janet Dailey for keeping the hope alive as my husband and I finished our first novel. (We had the novel published at iUniverse a POD company. I have only good to say about them. Beautiful results!)
I've spoken at a local writing group for a speakers fee, my second.
We've had a great TV ad done. You may see it on youtube just press in Forced Blood The Norseman. I'm more than half through with our next novel, Iron Hearts. What satisfaction to hold a novel in your hands for the first time with your name as author. Now that is Success!
