I became a (Gold) Authors Den member on June 12, 2008

This day may well have been on the same day that I received the first sight copies of my second published novel, “Becoming”.

As I was looking for a new venue to, hopefully, sell books – as I am sure for the same reason many of you became AD members – I became an AD member. 

In some ways, actually in the most important way AD is far less than I had hoped and expected. However, in other ways AD is much more than I had expected.

Now, near five years after joining AD, after submitting 3 books, 870 stories, 360 articles and 382 poems for a total of 974,196 hits, sadly I have had only three confirmed book sales through AD. Also, both, "The Climbing Boy" and "Becoming" are low priced Kindle Ebooks and for the past year all of my stories have made mention of this and yet even the sale of my two low priced Kindle books is not worth the mention.

Okay, so the bad part is that I’ve only sold three books and a few hardly worth meantioning Ebooks through Authors Den.

I had one hell of a good time and did sell a few books at the two LA County Book Fairs that I had participated in but find the cost far in excess of anything sold so will not be partaking again.   

The good part. The part that, for me, has made Authors Den worthwhile is that what I write is being read, and commented on, and I am able to read your work and comment on what you write.

Also, of vital importance to me is that I have made a goodly number of friends, and want to thank all of those that have become “trackers”.  I also want to thank anyone that reads anything that I’ve written.

And also... Shhh! Can’t let anyone know, but through AD I’ve even been inspired to write poetry; at least what I consider poetry (of sorts)
