Dear Mr. President;

I am one of the people your Democratic majority calls, apparently seriously, a disruptive voice at a Town Hall meeting; or an extremist at a Tea Bag gathering; someone who must be dragged kicking and screaming to Universal Health Care and an idiot according to Bill Maher, a comedian who considers himself some kind of an expert on politics as well as God. (What peculiar credentials???)

I am also a man seventy-three years of age who married a Lady and has had three children with her and raised three children she had by another man she knew before me. We have been married fifty-four years in the eyes of our God, are able to count Filipinos, Blacks, Mexicans, Indonesians, Vietnamese, and Iranians among our family. We have both sides of the political spectrum in our family as well.

Most of us have come to recognize that your divisive style of politics and your ‘pass every trillion dollar program’ style of so-called transparency legislation, none of which has been explained to anyone, including your own party, is not only sinking the United States of America financially, but driving a wedge between the proud races of our country.

In my seventy-three years I have worked along side of, and for people who are now afraid to speak their mind because, under your leadership, we have retreated years backward to a point where some wonder if we may have to fight another civil-war on our soil. We would fight, while some very suspect people could stand by and gleefully rub their hands with the fervent hope they will pick up the pieces and become even more powerful than they are now.

Mr. President, let me presume to mention some things I know about my country:

1) In spite of Bill Maher, we are intelligent enough to know when someone is running a scam on us, such as: Telling us that buying up banks, auto companies, or any other business, is being done to help us out. You, on my behalf, supposedly, have given billions (much of it taxes I will have to pay, plus money you will simply print) to banks who are being administered by some experts in the government so that they will magically now look after my benefit, while the truth is, the banks are actually hoarding their money, knowing full well the system you are implementing, can do nothing but lead to massive inflation. Why? Because you should know as well as I, a government can only earn money by taxing its citizens. And when the government spends trillions of dollars betting on the fact they can create taxes, tariffs, licensing fees, penalties of all kinds before the citizenry feels the obvious result– inflation, they are setting themselves, and as a result me, up for failure. Taxes and other charges slow the economy, the government’s only choice then is to print more money, which is a not so cleverly assumed plan (simply to print the money ahead of time) has an unintended consequence, that consequence, sir, is that the money you are so cavalierly printing ahead of time is, going overseas where other markets will charge discount points to us for its use, much higher than is available here in the U.S. which, in turn, forces our economy to pay higher interest for money and the net result once again, inflation. It is only marginally true , on paper at least, the Fed may be able to pay back current loans with inflated dollars but you fail to point out that while the administration may benefit in the short term, that benefit comes on the backs of the American working man and woman. Oh yes, and their kids and their kids, etc., etc.

2) There are already so many instances of what politicians have promised me to be ‘more efficiently run programs, such as welfare, social security, medicare, not to forget the post office, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, that have ballooned the tax base many times over, a more than fair warning to me. You can’t do it and you aren’t doing it, Mr. President, and you can’t tell me something you say is going to happen simply because you say it will. Others have already done that. And failed. Please don’t think because you buy a car company and insist they make ‘green’ cars that they are going to make a profit. That isn’t going to happen if you don’t give the American people the bridge so desperately needed to get from point A to point B. That bridge, Mr. President, sir, is to drill oil every possible place we can on, and near, our own country in those places we already know we can find oil. Common sense tells us you can’t get there from here Mr. President, when you allow every group who disagrees, for whatever reason, to carry more weight than the intelligent American worker who knows clean energy has to come at a cost that might just mean those groups just might have to suffer until we have that bridge of fuel to get from here to there.

3) I heard someone on TV say something you might well want to listen to, Mr. President, sir: A GOVERNMENT THAT ITS CITIZENS ARE AFRAID OF IS TYRANNICAL; A GOVERNMENT THAT IS AFRAID OF ITS CITIZENS, IS FREE. Think about it, sir.

4) Finally Mr. President, if you want the people of this country to assist you, do not pass one bill, one piece of legislation, without first LISTENING to what your constituency is really saying, not what poorly phrased and vague questions purport to tell you. Illegal immigrants are not legal immigrants. Clean up the businesses telling you they can’t survive without being able to enslave more people (illegal immigrants) and don’t kid yourself that there is any benefit in ignoring this situation. And I can’t think of anyone who benefits from a Commander In Chief who is indecisive about when he will make a troop decision. Withdraw or reinforce on your fronts of battle. Having eight or so meetings, with everyone carrying a broom in the White House, does not look good. If National Healthcare is so necessary, in your mind, why can’t your own parties politicians correct what’s wrong with it, instead of giving the bureaucracy of government even more power they will abuse? Please don’t call a two thousand page pile of confusion some kind of beginning in turning around healthcare. Nationalized healthcare has never worked for any other country, you give no reasons (that make sense) it will work here.

I will undoubtedly suffer slings and arrows from your supporters. So be it. I still live in a free country, Mr. President.
