As a young embryo, or a seed even, I knew that there was a purpose for me. Undeveloped and not even devoid of the atmosphere I was a part of, I knew there was something special to me and for me, but I just didn’t have a clue. Rhymes and reasons always points to some sort of destined value. I reached that conclusion simply because God didn’t place me here at this moment without an inkling for of being. But why here? I looked around me and I saw all kinds of shapes and forms, and then my eyes locked onto an opened book. WOW! I exclaimed. Why is that book among this setting…and why is it open? Someone whispered in my ear that written words are nothing more than seeds from someone's imagery nurtured in books; which were meant to grow once planted. Is that so? Where is the rich good black dirt where I may develop my roots when and where I write? Back to that opened book, though. Is that an omen that God has given me to grow into a mighty tree with enough branches favorable and flavored enough to incite, inspire, and innovate? Will my leaves be enough with informative verve for those fortunate enough to pick them up once they fall earthbound? The tree God made me to be I’m sure is endeavoring me to grow exponentially for other trees to emulate.
I’ve since come to realize that God made many trees…each different with purposes onto themselves. Orange trees were meant for oranges to be grown; apple trees with several varieties of apples, so are the mango trees so opulent in their succinct flavorable fruit, etc. The tree I’m becoming with a message I will share with others. They should always stand tall and proud while exuding strength in stature; allow strong roots to be content and conveniently spreading legacies above and beyond; don’t be afraid to go out on limbs taking on change and chance; remember that water is the source of life, emerge yourself in it and drink abundantly. Someone else whispered in my ear about a cure for the common life. The common life? That’s interesting because I never thought there was commonality when growth is ever so important for influence.
The tree God made me to be is a lesson for me to learn why I was created and the unique gifts that make me special. It’s all about self-awareness knowing my true nature and by abilities reacting to people and situations that may be prone to them climbing my trunck or sitting sturdily among my branches. This brings me back to me being a seedling trying to ascertain my subsequent talents and strengths I always wanted but didn’t know exactly how to attain. My growth is not just happenstance. I was meant to be what I’ve become. God ordained it! I’m sure that the potential to live the life of my dreams exists within me. The more I explore my talents, my relationships, and the patterns in my life, the more readily I will be able to tap into the potential that is mine. A tree without branches is dead without being able to reach those needing leaves of hope.
Again, I hark back to that open book with the pages exposed. Each page that God provides for life experiences are added to my branches for effect. Thus, the roots that I grew proliferated for me to love books---reading them, writing them. They have become staples in my life, as well as why writing is synonymous with expressing a more fulfilling and meaningful existence without changing my nature. It came from discovering who I am.The tree that God made me to be is in full bloom!
