The annals of a brand new ministry
Righteous Apples got its start stemming from a stroke Alvin C. Romer suffered during the latter part of 2009 in November two weeks before Thanksgiving. While debilitated and recovering, God allowed him to see and understand the wisdom of being broken and made whole again. The vision in the form of an epiphany involving helping those that have fallen from Grace, was the message toward empowerment by adopting quality standards of Christian living. Righteous Apples is much more than symbolic rendering, but fruit available seeking to connect people to Christ through devotional writing and planting seeds for spiritual growth. It was inspired by Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the Righteous is a tree of life...and he who wins souls is wise.” The Christian life is fraught with stumbling blocks and naysayers who would impede spirituality, never meant to allow believers to denounce their faith. In fact, we grow wise as a result of establishing a personal relationship with God daily and spending time reading His Word. Moreover, we grow exponentially by surrounding ourselves with those striving to live quality lives.
For over 30 years, Mr. Romer has made it a personal goal to begin each day as a seeker of the truth, diligently searching for it in Holy Scripture in any given time with pen in hand ready to write it down and make it plain. Having loss 60% capacity on his left side due to the stroke, the ability to walk adequately was a struggle along with regaining linguistic fortitude. God spoke and he began to informally email out these personal reflections from his morning’s devotional time to a select group of fellow seekers of truth online. Overtime, these informal emails grew into the creation of a connection in cyberspace. He named it ‘Righteous Apples, and today, thanks to a Providential decree, it’s growing by leaps and bounds!
Though the devotional is now being part of a series of books devoted to Christian standards of living, he is more convicted than ever to remain relentless in the pursuit of truth and continue to daily write an introspective and original ‘out of the box’ reflection from his personal time with the Lord. It has been an honor for him as well as a privilege to be able to share the Gospel and allow others a new lease on life.
