It is necessary to have right kind of devotion towards God.Commercialisation of devotion has become the order of the day. When I go to temple or church or mosque , I should be able to make a link with the God directly and communucate with the God. As these places are sacred to the people,Time has come to keep all the temples of God free from political and non -political issues.

WHEN I go to temple , I am completely spell bound by seeing the grandeur of the temple and the style of sculpturing of big granite stones. I would go to trance and some type of feeling which is called the result of bhakti , If I enter into the Sanctum Sanctorium . If I hear the hymns of Vedas , I would forget this material world and go deep into other world. I saw some people doing rolling namaskarams with their bodies rolling on the rough floor chanting the name of God. I saw some people climbing steep steps of 7 to 8 kilo meters to see God even by old people which other wise not possible in normal course. I saw some people walking on the fire while chanting the name God. In my child hood days , during Bonalu type festival , our village people were pouring hundreds of pots of water on the body of a person who is said to be main priest of our village goddess who takes karpoora harathi on his hands and tongue and also he takes neem leaves and eat like sweet .This is all in the name of God. In Tamil nadu , recently , I saw in the Media, that children are buried alive before Mahankali for 5 minutes duly wrapped with white clothe while the child is unconscious and immediately he will be dug out alive by the village elders. This is also out of deep , I can not say blind , faith on the God. That means If we have faith in God , we can do all the things possible which we think impossible to perform or do.

I some times feel that this is the result of faith on the God or Blind belief of the custom. In some of the areas , out of the custom , we can see the sacrifice of not only animals but also humans which is really shocking. Does God really appease and bless us only If we perform Sacrifices.

As saying goes ' AHIMSA PARAMO DHARMAH', then why should we sacrifice the innocent animals. This is even existing in other religions also . On the Bakreed day , Muslims are sacrificing Goats, camels and cows in the name of GOD. Does it necessary?

During jatara days , I saw so many people applying vermicelli on their bodies and ash on their faces. At the same time , while chanting the name of GOD, these Bhaktas are busy in preparing Ganja smoke and enjoying it. Some people are intoxicated with country liquor . Some ladies are appears to be deva dasis who are dedicated to God doing all non- sense things. All this is in the name of GOD.

I went to one of the temples in Northern India and Priest asked me only to embrace Siva Linga , which is one of the Jyothirlingas. Immediately I did whole heartedly with uttermost devotion to God and I was very happy for the opportunity that I had on that day. Immediately I was called to a corner and was demanded Rs. 500/- as I was given a special opportunity. I was shocked and objected to for paying but he frightened me that something untoward incident may happen. . Then I was relieved only after paying Rs. 200/- after bargaining. This is the business going on in most of the temples. Does God really happy with this? Actually in South Indian Temples , Ordinary people are not allowed in the Sanctum Sanctorium. Only Priests are allowed as per Agama Sastra Rules.But In most of the temples every one is allowed in the Sanctum Sanctorium.

Even in Tirumala , though the steps have been taken by TTD , still some of the lower ring employees are expecting lot of money. We have performed our Kalyanotsavam to GOD and after completion , Some of the employees are offering Chandana (sandal paste )of the God in a leaf . I took it as a maha prasada and after sometime , the same fellow is asking me money .Then I had to shell down Rs. 50/ - . This is being done before the God only.

In my view, God will never ask money. It is we created this ruckus, It has become like a virus infecting all . With Money , We can not buy God's grace nor Bhakti. Sitting in the four corners of our house also , we can pray God with out spending any thing except concentration on God.

Another problem with our temples ticketing system . To see your father and mother , are you paying any amounts or buying tickets. To view a movie in a cinema hall, you have to buy tickets or to go to circus. But not necessarily , to see God. If I want to have darshan , there are so many varieties. Special Darshana , VIP Darshana, ordinary darshana, dharma darshana. If VVIP comes , there will be a VVIP darshana. Why are these rules created? Its only creates chaos amongst people and create mental unrest and no peace of mind. I t is high time , we should do away all sorts of paid sevas , paid darshanas and make a law that before God , all are same. Even Prime minister or President should wait in the queue and have darshan of God. Then God really will be happy.


Then another thing comes to mind is that as elders say that ‘ human worship is God’s worship’ . But are we following the same?. Hundreds of destitute are waiting out side the temples , bus stations, railway stations and platforms. I can shell down thousands of rupees on tickets to see God or paid sewas to God or buying prasadams . But I can not shell down a 50 paise coin to the old beggars who are asking in the name of God. We do think that that is their karma and God will take care of them. Unless a man who is the real carrier of atman , other wise called God, helps a co – human being ,how God who is not seen by common people like us can help them. First of all , it is me, it is you , it is we , it is society, it is government as a whole , help a person or group of persons , then the real devotion to God will reach Him , I believe.


I don’t think Gods are really happy with the kind of devotion which we are showing to Him at present days. . The time has come , We should change the entire system of praying God and show real devotion to God.
