There are two sides to every coin. In the same vein, there are two sides to human knowledge. Acquisition of knowledge could be beneficial to mankind and on the other side, it could be self-destructive. I wrote an article which I titled- "God is the ONLY SOLUTION" but I got a rejoinder which baffled me to say the least. The writer obviously to the best of my discerning ability either does not believe that God really exists or he believes that He (God) has lost His relevance. He gave his reasons for saying so; which I think are jaundiced. Pardon me for using this adjective.
While I do not intend to drag anybody into an unnecessary controversy, however the truth must be told with all sincerity that in our desire to acquire knowledge, we must not allow evil to wrap up our thinking. A lot of physical things that we can see in the universe should constitute a poser to us. I mean to say physical things like light, darkness, the air that we breathe, the galaxies, the sun, the moon and the stars. How do they come into being? Do they just appear or do they come into existence through the perversed myth of evolution? These are questions that need to be answered critically otherwise we would be making futile attempts to call black white.
In ending this piece, I want to advise as many readers who are confused on whether the Amighty God exists or not to learn a lesson from the life of one of the first generation of American Astronauts- Neil Armstrong. He was an unrepentant atheist until the time he landed on the moon. When he saw how the whole earth was suspended on an empty space, he came to his senses and he said to himself that "of a truth only God could have done this."
I make bold to say that the moment a human mindset is devoid of God in his thinking, it becomes reprobate. A lot of evils may be happening in the world today, this is necessary in order for us to have reasons that would compel us to look unto our maker for help. If there is no darkness, we would not be able to appreciate the goodness of light.
I pray that the good Lord would open our eyes of understanding. Amen!
