Before then, there were many different writings, and teachings, and groups. When it became an official Roman religion, some say it became political. When a group of Bishops decided once and for all which of many writings to choose from would be included in the Latin Vulgate, they effectively extinguished what truth may have been included in the other teachings.

Some even go so far as to say the entire teachings of the Christian religion were designed not for their truth, or the availability of salvation and peace they offered to the common person, but for their ruling effectiveness. They were a socially engineered set of rules and principles created by those in power, to keep them in power. When viewed from this perspective, religion takes on a whole new meaning.

The good news, though, is that the truth that was written on the hearts of men and women two thousand years ago are still just as true , and just as available to everyone today. All you have to do is listen. Seek and you shall find.
