Celtic Stones

I believe stones and gems can heal us if we give them a try.

The Celts were a people with close ties to the earth and all nature, sensitive to the world around them and to every psychic flow of energy that emanated from nature. Celtic history mentions the wide use of various stones in jewelry and sword and dagger hilts, plus stones that were worn as amulets and talismans. The Celts had an extensive trading system allowing them the opportunity to obtain many precious and semi-precious stones that could not be found in Ireland itself. Thus it is reasonable to assume that Celtic healer and shamans used various stones as part of their healing practices.

There are several methods for using stones in healing. The stones can be placed directly on the body for periods of time, allowing the aura to soak up needed corrective energy. Stones can be worn in jewelry, thus providing a steady stream of energy for various purposes, from healing disease to protection. The healer also can make an elixir from stones to add to the client's bathwater or give the client to drink.

Elixirs are mad by submerging certain stones in a small amount of purified water. Some stones cannot be immersed in water without damage; the stones listed below can safely be washed or used to create elixirs. Clean the stones you plan to use by physically removing all dust, dirt, and debris. Pass the stones through frankincense incense smoke. Then, on a full moon, place the stones in a container of the base liquid to be used. Cap it tightly and set in a cool, dark place until the next full moon. Remove the stones and clean them again. Label the bottle and decant the liquid, as needed, into dark-colored bottles with eyedroppers. Good stones to use for these elixirs are:

Amethyst- general purification and balance Citrine- detoxifying Emerald- general healing/immune and nervous system Ruby- circulatory system and for vitality Sapphire- the entire glandular system

Put three to six drops of this type of elixir into a bathtub or a glass of water for drinking. The elixir should be used only once a day. Sometimes a client needs a steady flow of certain stone energies to begin the road to recovery. It is not wise to tape stones directly to the body and leave them, a client can get an overdose of the stone's energy that will cause further problems. The best way to impart stone energies without harm is for the client to wear the needed stone or stones in jewelry of some type. (Necklace, bracelet, anklet, ring)

The following list of stones can be used in healing. These stones are easily accessible and affordable (*accept aurauralite)
 · Agate, blue Lace: Arthritis, fractures, digestion, claming of nerves
 · Agate, Moss: Protection, of the aura, calmness, reducing fever
 · Aurauralite: Protection absorbs all negativity and transmutes it.
 · Amber: General purification, depression, the endocrine glands
 · Amethyst: General pain, headaches, insomnia
 · Bloodstone: Bladder problems, blood disorders
 · Carnelian: Diseases of the pancreas and spleen, colds, allergies
 · Garnett Red: strength, the blood, depression, and general purification
 · Hematite: All blood disorders
· Lapis Lazuli: Infection, fever, burns, dizziness, stroke
· Malachite: Liver, gallbladder, birth labor, the immune system
 · Marble Connemara: Clams the nerves, and soothes the mind
 · Obsidian Black: The eyes, claming
 · Onyx Black: Bone marrow
 · Quartz, Clear Crystal: All illnesses
· Quartz, Rose: The heart
 · Quartz Smoky: Depression, insomnia; know is Scotland as cairngorm
 · Tiger's Eye: General purification, the throat, reproductive organs
 · Turquoise: All illnesses
