More from the inspired mind of Sha'Tara...

Of Healers and the System

[Thoughts from the Other Side - Sha'Tara]

A couple of evenings ago I paddled out to the River.  Yes, it's spring and even if late the River must rise again as the snows in the hills begin to melt in earnest.  A couple of feet of rise can make quite a difference to the whole natural environment.  The water colour is darker, browner, richer.  Heavy smells of moisture penetrating soil and sand fill the air and the wind is "heavier" in feel.  You can see the wet line moving up the sand bars and pieces of drift wood that had gotten stuck on the bars in the fall are beginning to float downstream again.

Spring is very late this year and the weather has been unseasonably (never understood why they don't write it "unseasonally"???) and unreasonably cold.  Arctic terns which normally just fly by without being seen were hungrily searching the water for food, giving off their loud squawking and diving in the same fashion as an osprey would, shaking themselves as they rise out of the water.  These birds look like small gulls, except for their heads which are continually angled down and their bills almost at right-angle to the neck - the posture of the ever-present predator in them, scanning the surface of the water for small fish rising to catch flies.  Terns are very aggressive and in a way I'm glad they do not nest here.  I see enough of that already.

I had thought about staying out to watch the sunset but the wind convinced me otherwise.  I had a wonderful meditation time and slept in a warm sandy depression.  An hour of such sleep in intimacy with the earth is worth hours of sleep in any bed.  Your whole day drops off and when you wake up, it's a new world out there.  Clouds had thickened as the sun moved into the west and there were sun-dogs - sure sign the weather is changing.  It had been hot and dry for a few days (if memory serves, I don't pay much attention to the weather) and sure enough it began to rain yesterday and it's raining steadily today, in heavy, low clouds that hide the mountains.

Spring is a time of healing because everything comes alive again, even if at a temporary and rather surface level.  Because we live on the surface of this world we are affected by this change too.  I know that my body responds well to interaction with the faster pace of things.  More energy.  I would almost say, a stronger heart-beat.  Outside the sloganizing, yes, life is beautiful -- when lived in the pulse of the planet, not to the tune of the market-place.

"Give in, let go,  and take the journey"  (From "G" - the movie)  Life is an endless journey.  When caught in temporary physical reality it becomes difficult to remember this.  The body cries for attention when things appear to go wrong.  Fear strikes from any number of angles.  Fear of ... what?  The unknown.  In the body we fear we can never be masters of our own fate.  And how well the "System" knows this!  How they milk and suck and kill, knowing we will let it - them - do it to us.

About healers:  this planet has so many doctors - so many experts - claiming to be able to make us feel better, physically, mentally, psychologically.  Not just practitioners of so-called medicine, but any number of "doctors" - experts in physics, biology, poetry, politics, architecture, history, religion.  These are the people we trust to make life on earth "better" - more understandable; to give us longer life-spans and eventually guide us to the pearly gates.  As long as these doctors are here, we are in good hands.  Imagine not having them to run to!

I can.  In fact, I imagine a world living in peace, health and harmony with itself - if we got rid of all these self-centered cats.

I have encountered healers on other worlds.  They don't keep their gifts or skills to themselves until someone can pay for it.  That would be considered a horror!  The healer has no need of my money, or anything else I may have to "trade" for his gifts.  Quite the contrary.  I will leave the healer's hands with more energy within myself, not less.

I have seen energy-poor (and often money poor) individuals go to doctors and such looking for help.  I have seen them being drained of the little they had to get questionable "healing" that seldom worked except on a very temporary basis.  I have seen diseases carefully managed by the System so no real cure is ever found.  For on this world the energy flows, not from the healer to the patient, but the other way around.  The patient is in a weak and vulnerable condition, ripe to be exploited.  And that is what Earthian healers do.

Sadly - yes, very sadly - many of them cannot see this.  They cannot reason that it is abnormal for a physician who sees sick people daily, many with barely enough to get by,  to live in a half-million dollar mansion,  driving a car worth $50,000 or more.  These so-called healers have been duped into thinking they are helping all the while gorging themselves on the weaknesses of others.  They become predators and they justify it in countless ways.

Simply put, there is no healing in Earthian institutions or from the hands of highly  paid "professionals" and "experts".  The true healer does not take, she or he, gives because the gift of healing is a cosmic phenomenon, a "muse" no different than the gift of music.  A gift, being freely received, must be freely given, or it becomes a curse.

The market-place System that has imposed itself on Earth, using man's natural greedy nature, is poisoning the entire planet by having poisoned the mind of man.  To break free of this Earthians will have to turn their backs upon the System.  They will have to find their own, individual, personal, connection to the cosmic flow of energy - to the gift of life.  They will have to learn to distrust everything that claims to know better, including their gods or God.  That's what it means to grow up.  To take responsibility for one's self, one's world, one's place in cosmic space.

Life has taught me this:  If I'm willing to work for it; to delve, dig, search, quest, question, accept with option to reject -- no one out there knows anything more than I.  It's not a matter of knowledge, but of perception.   For example, a skilled surgeon may be able to fix a defective heart, and may claim that I cannot do that.  Fine says I, but if I am a self-healer I don't need your skills Mr. Surgeon because I don't have a defective heart.  Therefore, I'm one step ahead of you.  And I get to keep my money (personal energy) to play with instead of contributing to your $10,000 Rolex.

The lawyer may be able to interpret the law to my advantage in a court case and claim I cannot.  Fine says I, but if I live an impeccable life according to our greatest revealed truths (love your enemy fits in here) then I won't need your legal skills.  And the same goes for all of them.  Even the accomplished composer, musician, singer -- these may claim I cannot do what they do.  Fine says I, but I can hear the music of the spheres...  and that is beyond anything man has ever uttered.

"Fear is the mind killer.  I will face my fear.  I will let it pass through me.  And when it has gone I will look and there will be nothing there.  Only I will be standing there." (Bene Gesserit mantra against fear - from "Dune" by Frank Herbert)

Regis ~ Your style is very clean and clear, and articulate - I like it very much! AND you are such a gentleman, which is meaningful to me, as well. Thank you...
I agree with nearly everything you said, Regis....I'd just like to share with you something my [step]Father - a MEDICAL DOCTOR for 50 years, remember? - told me. He said that when he was studying to become a doctor, the medical students were TOLD that they ARE gods! He was so funny, and had the twinklingest? blue eyes, and he'd lean in and say, "And most of those fools BELIEVED IT, too, Rhonda!" When he retired, he still sat on the Board of Ethics at His Hospital, and he was kind of glad his Service was over....he said, very disappointedly, that today's doctors were "treading on GOD's toes"...doing things he didn't believe they should do. Papa never overcharged, and if necessary, he DID gave his GIFT away for free. I rarely, if ever go to a doctor,[ I do go straight to The Great Physician, Jesus! yes, even with my stroke - it is HE Who is healing me, through all the prayers of you wonderful people like yourself] only my chiropractor, who also has the GIFT of healing. I don't mind paying his reasonable fee, for that Gift is how The LORD enables him to provide for his family. Being part of the Medical Field USED to be a Calling......I am glad you brought this thoughtful and thought-provoking piece to the fore, Regis.......I just passionately encourage you: NEVER QUIT TRUSTING GOD - Who knows you better - than The One Who created you? WHY, HE IS THE SOURCE OF ALL LIFE!
I'M PRAYING FOR YOU,TOO ~ rhonda
