Dreams, Portents, Prophesies

(thoughts from ~burning woman~ by Sha’Tara)

What are dreams? I have no idea. Why do we have them (or not, as some claim)? I don’t know. Are they messages, warnings, entertainment, the after-effects of powerful emotions? Do we make them up, or do they originate from some source other than ourselves?

It’s sobering to be reminded that the ancients were very conscious of dreams, paid attention to their contents and had people on retainer to whom they would go for interpretation. Certainly that eventually led to much charlatanism, but there was, in all of it, that annoying thread of truth and “other than” solid reality.

In the book of the prophet Joel (the Bible) we read:
“And afterwards, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”

This is repeated verbatim by Peter in Acts 2:17 (New Testament). References to dreams, prophesies, visions and such out of body events abound in all ancient literature, whether “holy” or secular. Those were days, of course, when people encountered God, deities, angels, demons and various “familiar” spirits. These entities interacted directly with people, for good or ill and it was a fact of life.

I look at this world, your world (no longer mine!) and I see how much has been lost of what was once common knowledge and taken for granted.

When was the last time you remember having a definitive, personal (not socially or religiously induced) encounter with a spirit being? I am not speaking of feelings, or wishes, or claims to divine intervention through prayer here. I’m talking about a personal, two-way conversation in which you got to state your own points, concerns, requests, questions, and to which you got verbal or verbally translatable, replies or were questioned in turn?

This world, however much some would deny it, is basically doomed. You have overpopulation (denied by the well-meaning and jumped upon by those psychopathic types who can’t wait to enact some kind of racial or social “cleansing” to reduce the population and in the process, create a sort of super man race. The Nazis were very much into this and the idea, although gone underground for a time, has grown. Think: what will the System, the Matrix, do when it evolves a social system that no longer needs consumers and droves of slave workers and decides it’s high time to safeguard remaining natural resources, including breathable air and potable water for its elites? Doesn’t take a masters’ degree to figure that one out. The “day” is coming.

So I had a dream the other night. It wasn’t unusual, as dreams go for me, but it was incredibly intense. It was as if some “force” was attempting to brand something into my mind. As if it meant to say, “Here, watch this, feel this, make it a part of who you are and never forget.”
The gist of this dream: I find myself observing – a common place for the prophet/visionary – and I see the earth in its entirety. Then there are a few people around me. They are rather obvious by their dress: long light-coloured robes, long hair, ageless. I suppose they wanted to impress the “we are your ancestors, the ancient ones” upon my mind. I felt a great tension as I watched the earth. One of the ancients turned to me and said, “Would you like to heal that particular world you have such an affinity for even as you claim it is not yours?” I nodded, yes. “You have some ideas, theories, on how to fix this place, we know. Well, here’s something new for you. We know of a method whereby you can inject a living world and cause it to grow, to expand. That would mean more space for its populations, enough food, enough shelter, enough expanse that whomever chose could go away from others and commune quietly, undisturbed, with nature. Yes, even for the billions currently populating this earth.” Sounds like a good idea, I said, but it cannot work there.

“Ah… and why not?” Because of the ubiquitous greed and innate selfishness of the Earthians. Give them more and all they will think of doing is exploiting more. Nothing is ever enough for them, hence why they are eating each other alive, currently numbering in the tens of thousands who die daily of totally preventable causes.

“Yes, of course. And we know that. So we propose this to you, that you find some way to explain to them that what they are currently doing is not only evil to the extreme, but completely self-destructive. They must learn many things in a very short time if they hope to avoid a certain apocalypse. Of first importance, they must become aware of the insufferable pride they exhibit constantly. This is fed by their information and entertainment media of course, but that is hardly an excuse – they can certainly do without such. So they must become humble. Then they must become compassionate. They must teach themselves and learn from experience that life is about giving, not about receiving and certainly not about having, holding on to, and taking from others. They must, as a people (a small people by our standards) repudiate all of their current leadership. We say “all” because all, to mostly a greater degree, are corrupt to the core and the leadership system they must belong to in order to lead and rule, demands mental, moral and spiritual corruption of all of them, no exceptions. Once their entire world follows these simple, if at the first difficult, suggestions, then we will be allowed to intervene in Earthian affairs and bring in the “miracle” of global expansion.”

I thought about that for a while. In my mind, I could not conceive of any way I could cause the necessary awareness that could save the planet. I have always believed in myself, in my own ability to make more or less the correct choices for my life within the parameters encountered. I have never trusted groups or institutions because I see the corruption innate to all of them. So that would leave me, one individual, to speak to some (counting only adults and assuming) three to four billion people speaking hundreds of languages and dialects totally foreign to me. I stood there, in the dream, in my dream-time, and pondered that. Who, or what, would empower me to do this? No one. There was only me.

And I remembered that saying, “When the need arises to choose someone, choose yourself.”

And the dream ended before I made my choice.

“Our generation knows a cold hell, solitary confinement in this life, without a God to damn or save it. Until man figures out the trap and hunts... "the Ultimate Ground of Being," he has no reason at all for his existence. Empty, finite, he knows only that he will soon die. Since this life has no meaning, and he sees no future life, he is not really a person but a victim of self-extinction.” (T. George Harris)

Regid, crisis is without doubt a relative term - who is being impacted? consequence is a determinate each of us understands - moving millions of people in a desired direction requires abject prevarications for some and facts for others - perceptions of deities are personal and expectations for how they will act or relate to us are a confusing scenario - to doubt their existence is to doubt the air you breathe, the force of gravity that holds you upon the earth, microwaves, the subatomic particle - it is easy to state, prove they exist and then step back and wait for answers one can snipe at all day - turn the trick, prove with the same empirically gathered data that they do not exist - rhetorical questions always seem to go in endless circles without any facts to support them - interesting - I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael

Reg,

Very insightful, and true it is, if we have more, we'll only exploit more.

You are the world my friend, you already fulfilled one of the requirements, that of sharing your gift of prophecy, to make this world tick properly and for some time to come, we need to learn to share instead of our ambitious egos trumping one another, share, love, and pain, and hunger, as well as the opposite, so that we all know the deep truth that guides us, if we're willing to listen.

It seems strange, there at this moment is my now wild sweet pet Raven I raised, calling all his kind to share in the meagre gift of food, I out of love shared with him on a tray in the backyard. I wonder are they smarter, more wise than us, more in tune, with what sustains them.
Bless you for sharing your thoughts and skillful exposition of them. Jasmin Horst

WAO Regis!! What an incredibly powerful dream, such simple truths and yet that's all the world needs, we must start from ourselves, self-love.

I read that again and again, thanks for sharing!

Suitably vivid this dream, terrible the portent, grim this prophecy. And the choice is truly the only one you have the power to make. Glowingly, neonicly put.

I think, but cannot prove that your dream was totally within your your waking thoughts, just a resorting of memory in sleep. I've had very logical dreams, that when exposed to the light of day, became totally illogical.

If we are headlong for calamity, we do not need a savior. Events, alone, change attitudes immensely. If enough of us act and write of our refusal to continue the status quo, it will change. Christians, while being fed to the lions, changed Rome in less than 100 years. Now Rome needs to change.
