Then and suddenly the price of said oil plummets – well, almost enough for people to notice without asking why – and presumably it’s because now there’s a glut of the stuff. And because there is too much oil, we’re going to war. Well, doesn’t that make perfect sense when you live in an insane world ruled by the most insane of them all? So now the deal with the Saudis has collapsed and these spoiled auto-plutocratic despots are upset because their private goose that lays the golden eggs is still laying but others have figured out how to make their own golden eggs and they don’t care about the Saudi goose. So the Saudis are sulking and in retaliation, are bank-rolling Isis (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) to cause mayhem and massacre people for the fun of it. Today (January 7, 2015) 12 people killed in Paris.  There’s a manhunt on for three armed perps.

Of course the Saudis did not invent Isis, nor did they invent Al Quaeda.  That was the result of the inimitable and wonderful work of the CIA and the US government specifically designed to de-stabilize the Middle East and make it easier to control the flow of black gold, the goal being to secure military “peace” to build and protect pipelines to global consumers. Since “the art of fracking” was developed, the whole face of oil availability and disposability has temporarily changed world-wide. Now Russia can supply itself and Europe. China has all it needs and the ‘States have access to home-grown oil or Alberta oil (if they can ever get the pipeline built) so they’re not so keen on supporting their spoiled brat murderous Saudi royals at the moment.

In the world of Mad versus Mad, we threaten war, or go to war, over a “necessary” resource because we need it and its availability is limited and threatened. Then we threaten war, or go to war, because we have too much of it and we don’t need it. If you don’t think about it, it makes perfect sense.

Of course it’s a question of numbers, numbers tied to dollars, petro-dollars, Yuans, euros, Rubles (not to be confused with rubble, however tempting) and finally, gold reserves. Who’s got the biggest pile, either in debt or in stock? Two things we should all know. First, who has enough gold to put oil back on a gold standard basis and kill the dollar? Some say the European union, others, China. Who has the most debt? The USA. The Federal Reserve has a liability of 4.3 trillion dollars and their actual capital is a mere 56 billion dollars. Thus leveraged at 77/1. Currently, every new dollar printed by the Fed returns a mere 3 cents worth of economic growth. The American banking system is 60 trillion dollars in debt. Russia and China own 17 trillion dollars of US debt – and as an aside, who, a half-century ago could have imagined an ex-communist country and a communist country literally owning America, or at least having a firm grip on its economic short and curlies? I call it poetic justice.

But there’s more. America makes up a paltry 4% of world population but indulges itself in direct and indirect military spending to the tune of 50% of global military spending. I would call that a bit of an extravagance, but that’s the price Americans had to pay so their beloved billionaires could get the necessary protection and continue to rake in their billions. You reap what you sow, and if you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind, a biblical truism if there ever was one.

I’m just glossing over the gathering storm. That war will ensue from all this madness is a foregone conclusion, unless the planet is first hit by some meteor or struck with a kind of unknown “black” plague with global impact, killing billions before it peters out. No matter which way you look at it, the best guess scenario for earth is death on a massive and uncontrollable scale. It may happen suddenly and relatively quickly, say during a catastrophic ensuing ten year period, or it may accelerate gradually from this point on and result in population depletion of five to six billions through attrition caused by a combination of factors already in play: war (resource based, political and religious), genocide, famine, man-made or “natural” plague such as Ebola, or of natural causes due to global warming and environmental pollution. This attrition of numbers could stretch over several hundred years.

There are 7.2 billion people on this planet, most of whom have never, ever, even considered taking responsibility for their own lives. Say, 7 billion totally dependent people. When whatever they depend on fails, they will panic and they will riot. Unable to reach those responsible, they will turn on each other and slaughter each other. Civilization, as observed through the historical lenses of the 20th century is a veneer, a “politically correct” if ultimately quite powerless exercise. Powerless in the sense that it does not change man, the individual. It’s a crutch which people have been given and trained to use so they would never learn to stand on their own feet, as individuals. The result, predictably, is that Earthians are anything but civilized. They may be pacified, and have been through oppression or high-pressure consumerism, but those are temporary measures that only work under certain tightly controlled conditions. Take away police and military control of, say, China and North Korea, or take away the box stores and entertainment centers, the TV’s, internet and food stores from America, sit back and watch what happens to your civilized world. Chaos, bloodshed and death. There is no real substance to it, it’s a fabricated utopia.

I don’t know if the Earthian collective is being driven towards war deliberately by some group of insane, power mad pathocrats, or if war, which is a break-down of civilized society, is the inevitable result of reaching critical mass population density. Perhaps it has more to do with the inability of the global capitalist system to deal with current conditions world wide, including global warming in turn combining with man-made environmental pollution.

To re-set our current conditions to a more normal way would require that man, as an individual, be a solid, reliable and consistent being. More, he would have to be a compassionate being, freely open and willing to share his own resources with any and all comers. But you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Man’s systems cannot be better than the material they are made of: people. These people are not self-empowered, responsible individuals. For the most part they are pathetic dependents upon whatever system they find convenient to latch on to. Then they suck off of that teat and when it runs dry and they can no longer butt or bully on to the next, they get mad, then go mad.
