What kind of Age are we Living in?

The main problem with engaging "Thought" is that it possesses an endless ability to flow through all obstacles and thus it creates endless repercussions within any sort of order. Thought has an extended family spread out over the entire cosmos, taking in this universe and any number of other universes as if they were no more than a village square. Thought cannot be bound.
Because Thought is akin to the universal solvent, it causes no end of problems for elites and realists alike; those uprightly and so-truthful self-appointed Guardians and Controllers of reality, convinced it is their divinely handed down mandate, their sacred function, to ensure that all and sundry intelligences conform to their concept of reality. After all, their Reality is the only valid and accepted Reality extant. Whether it's in a religious institution, halls of government and justice, banks and corporations, nothing but what the Status Quo declares to be "The Truth" can be bought or sold here. The promoted claims for this necessary agenda of imposed reality are to prevent civilization from collapsing into chaos.
For this reason they promote reality as being a physical concept. Let's throw in "heaven" and "hell" in here as physical concept reality since these are promoted by reality controllers as static events, i.e., the domains of an unchanging God. So, if it isn't physical (read: approved by Big Brother), it does not exist and those who promote the idea that "reality" is quite malleable and ever-changing are anti-social and dangerous wizards of chaos. Where is the Inquisition when you need it?
Physical reality promoters, to lock Thought in step with official reality, invented certain "necessary" concepts from which one's perception of reality must never stray. All of these necessary concepts are based on some aspect of faith. Faith in invented divinities and invented spirit realms coupled with unproven and unobservable "power of prayer" appears to be our oldest and most revered cultic aspect of faith. Threatening these old faiths, a new God has strode boldly into the fray, fame and frame of Earthian Faith: Science and its "scientific theories" which are declared "true " simply because they have not yet been proven false within their allotted sphere of influence and are protected and kept in place by the power of the Status Quo. Then there's all that psychiatric mumbo-jumbo dispensing a plethora of pills and vaccines whose value rests, not on proven positive results - proper research into that pseudo-science quickly reveals to opposite is true - but on how much they bring in for psychiatry, Big Pharma and Big Medicine. These major faiths are held in place by an ever-growing, uncounted and uncountable number of invented rules and laws, with sliding scale penalties attached for violating or breaking them.
I never exonerate "official science" from the faith label. It this age of technocracy it is the number one enemy of Thought; just as committed to the destruction of imagination and "magic" as was the pre-Renaissance Roman church. In an "age" of technology, science is obviously the new God on the block. Believing itself to be solidly anchored in physical reality it mocks and attacks anything that dares state there could be more in the offing than science declares to be real. Plus, and most important, science is as compromised and prostituted to the military-industrial complex as all major religions have always been.
But the greatest enemy of Thought is public education, and no distinction is made here whether such "education" is government run, church run, or corporate controlled. This is where Status-Quo-endorsed brainwashing attempts to put an early end to any freedom of imagination carried over from childhood. Any and every pseudo-information that carries the System agenda of "reality as it is declared to be" is poured into the classroom, from kindergarten to wherever and whenever an individual staggers up the steps of ever-more stilted academia, as "Reality as it was, is, and will continue to be." As if he were participating in some endless trick-or-treat collection of questionable goodies, the individual is given an empty garbage bag upon entering kindergarten and prodded, shoved, forced, to stagger through the "grades" or "levels" to fill the garbage bag as he trudges along amidst a rising mountain chain of "student" debt, impossible demands and little, if any, vision of any real future created by his efforts.
The longer an individual remains in this mind devolution prison, the more that individual's mind shrinks, remaining only capable of understanding its shrunken immediate surroundings and condition from its garbage bag full of pseudo-knowledge it has been dragging around for an average one-quarter of its entire life allotment. The rule here is simple: if it isn't in the garbage bag, it is a conspiracy invented by uneducated, bored, bitter, angry, jealous, coveting individuals who, having been too lazy or having failed in some way to gain a "higher education" are now trying to bring down the whole edifice of civilization with inventions that question everything from vaccines to democracy, from the Bible to Capitalism.
Imagine someone so anti-social as questioning the very foundation of our democracy, for example, questioning whether American astronauts really landed on the moon in 1969! Such people should be in jail, or better yet, in a re-education institution having their brains lobotmized and re-wired. Imagine someone questioning the official line about the collapse of the twin towers in New York on 9-11. These are the real criminals, the ones who do not care that 3 or 4 thousand precious American lives were lost on that day.
So, what kind of age are we living in? The Age of Absolute Faith with an uncomfortable blend of faith in ancient spirit deities merged into a one God image and in an age of Technocracy poised to bring about all the good things promised but never delivered by the ancient gods. We are living in the Age of Science as the new and all-powerful God. Those who point out that this new God is really quite naked despite all the fanfare: its money and power; its worshipers, admirers, trusting sycophants and religious "enemies" cozying up to it when they can't beat it, are the real enemies of progress, hence of mankind.
I remember many of the points made by my Teachers those years ago. One: Believe all things, believe in nothing. There's a marvelous freeing concept, indeed! You can accept two opposites without any difficulty: you can defy "reality" by making both sides of the the teeter-totter go up or down simultaneously! Someone says to me, "That was quite a feat the Americans accomplished landing men on the moon in 1969." Another says, "That whole moon landing show was fabricated. No technology existed at the time to safely take biological life through the highly radioactive Van Allen belts, even with the excuse that the passage would be of short duration and the dose of radiation received by the astronauts would not be seriously harmful. Worse, to expose people to raw solar radiation on the moon. Everything was faked by NASA and Hollywood producers."
I tend to lean towards the latter complaint myself for the siimple reason that it is the height of naivety to believe anything that spews out of official sources. But the proper response is, does it matter whether the US landed men on the moon in 1969? Listen to what Thought has to say about that: No, it does not matter in the least, because in retrospect none of that expenditure of time and money made any difference to the conditions of life on this world. It was a "really big show" as Ed Sullivan used to say, and nothing more. Now we have better things to do, like following Kim Kardashian and inviting new friends on Facebook: serious stuff.
That's System Mental Evolution in this "new" age and you can see how Thought can be a real problem here: it doesn't focus on what's truly important; on what matters; on what keeps society from going off the deep end. It's obvious, if you don't think about it, that "the" problem isn't over-population, endless wars, famine, environmental pollution and man-induced climate change or a daily toll of over 40,000 innocent victims of exploitation and oppression: the problem is those who refuse to believe. How could any system psyop like moon landings, church shootings, "9-11" events and the endless variety of crises pawned off as news on daily info-tainment pass muster if people stopped believing? What would happen to the whole elitist power facade if people stopped following, braying in unison, "My country, 'tis of thee" and "Ours is not to wonder why, ours is but to do or die" and with a chord or two of "Amazing Grace" thrown in?
As horrible as it is to contemplate, the people would find themselves free of their physical and mental bondage to under lying truth (do note the play on words!); free to live their lives as they know best rather than as they are brainwashed to believe they must. Imagine the nightmare; imagine the chaos such freedom would unleash on this world. Better by far to shrink the mind even further that the gods may appear bigger and more powerful. Self-empowerment is fiction; a delusion of the mentally unbalanced.
In 1974, Frank Herbert, the author of Dune, wrote this: "The current utopian ideal being touted by people as politically diverse (on the surface, but not underneath) as President Richard M. Nixon and Senator Edward M. Kennedy goes as follows - no deeds of passion allowed, no geniuses, no criminals, no imaginative creators of the new. Satisfaction may be gained only in carefully limited social interactions, in living off the great works of the past. There must be limits to any excitement. Drug yourself into a placid 'norm.' Moderation is the key word..."

Science allows us to create all kinds of technologies. Our 7 billion humans are primarily surviving on a complex (matrix?) of technologies. If we all rejected them, most of us would die after 3 days without clean water. Only current aboriginal or indigenous isolated people on earth would survive, and they would suffer for lack of modern technologies like snowmobiles in the case of the Inuit.
It is easy for you and I to escape the matrix to some extent. But for everyone, it's not possible.
