My Newspaper Article by Debbie A Lacy

Surprised but grateful beyond measure!
One day, I was sharing a few of my book publishing sites with an associate who loves to read good mysteries. Suddenly, her friend quickly approached us when she overheard I was a writer. She was quite pleasant as she introduced herself, she seemed very inquisitive in some of the details I had mentioned. I watched as she quickly flipped open her notepad and begin to jot down some of my book writing information. After mentioning Google was a true friend of mine, she smiled and said, "Oh yes, mine too!" We all shared in a little chat and before leaving, she congratulated me before walking away. It was interesting because it sounded so genuine. Minutes later, my friend informed me that she was a news article reporter for the town's local newspaper. I smiled because she was quite cordial.
It was two days later, when my husband saw this article in the newspaper featuring me! I was quite surprised! I thought, "What a nice thing to do and what a helpful promotional technique.
Yes, it is! I had to extend my sincere gratitude to her personally and what was so interesting, she had already read one of my books before she even met me! I had no idea and neither did she tell me from the beginning. I believe God puts genuine people in our path to help us along sometimes. Oh yes, I've heard about that Expo! Never give up!
It's always nice when we get promotion like that. I was interviewed for a radio program two years ago but my interview was either cut or postponed for another program at the time because it wasn't aired. Several other authors/artists were interviewed at the same time at the Abilities Expo held in Houston every year July/August.
