Lust is lust, whatever its medium. It could be sex, drugs, or rock and roll. Interesting to me is the emphasis the media places on figures of renown and their failings, when, in fact, each of us has a little Tiger in his tank. Is that why we pay such attention to these stories of Tragedy? Do we find solace for our own sins by focusing on those of the high and mighty? Do we receive vindication for our personal failures by projecting them outward onto someone else's life?
The people of this country pride themselves daily as a Nation of God, and yet we constantly hide the tenets of that faith whenever we are able. Is it not a sin to revel in the misery of another? Do we not, whenever we judge the actions of another, place judgement on ourselves?
My Grandfather often told me, "Mind your business!", and it required years of thought to understand his meaning. Place not your focus on the deeds or misdeeds of another. Rather, concentrate and focus on your own.
If you are a Christian, and even if you aren't, read and understand, maybe for the first time, the teachings of the Masters. They are congruent in their thoughts, and they all talk directly to You. It can only be relevant to the rest of us after your personal understanding. "Physician, heal thyself!"
