I am becoming a hopeless pessimist. I can't help but worry. I used to think the internet was the cure, now I think it may just hasten the disease. It is not out of the realm of possibilities that between zero and ten years, psychopathic killers under the mantra of terrorism will have sourced out nuclear weaponry. If they do, it will be for one reason and one reason only, to be detonated. And they will not be sending any advance warnings, they will just carry out their agenda.

How many terrorists does it take to destroy the world? Not just destroy it as we know it - as that has already happened - but to completely destroy all the civilizations; to destroy it to the point where only small enclaves of people remain.

With the internet, like minded people all over the world can find each other. Authors join writing websites; feminists join women’s organizations; environmental groups disseminate information about how to stop pollution; political organizations reach out to millions, quickly, easily and with endless content; pedophiles join secure websites where they can learn what countries offer the easiest access to young boys and girls, so they can live out their sexual fantasies, freely and without repercussion; gay men can join websites that solicit others just like them, willing to risk disease, or share in their disease, so that they may live out their sexual desires, unsheathed, and without concern for safety, as in bare-backing; Christians gather, to spread Christ’s word among the believers in the hopes of reaching all the non-beliers; the same is true for Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu’s, et. al.. All manner of enthusiasts can congregate in various forums and clubs, sharing their dreams, their beliefs, their goals – with a common goal – the healing of our planet.

And then we have the psychopathic killers, the sadists, the blood lusters. They are Muslim, Christian, Jew, Atheist, Agonistic, Buddhist, Hindu; their only similarity is they love to kill, they love the taste of blood, and they love the scent of fear and death. No longer do they need to hide in anonymity. Now they can band together, perhaps under the banner of al Qaeda - or a similarly named organization - to main, to rape, to pillage, to induce fear, to behead, to kill, to terrorize. By accessing the internet they can gather-up information about a nation’s strengths and weaknesses; they can source out weaponry; they can coordinate their attacks. Most of all they can become a force. A FORCE! For the first time ever, all the sadists worldwide can be as one, with one training plan, with mutual protection and kinship amongst their blood-lusting brethren.

So I ask: How many terrorists does it take to destroy the world?
