Yes, it’s true , today’s headlines are definitely disheartening. The news makes it hard to believe and trust anyone anymore. While I was in the Air Force I experienced things that made me sick, but every day I fight to regain my trust in people. Every now and then others show their kindness and that helps me in my struggle to regain this trust. No matter how cruel and mean the world gets though, ultimately I do believe that there are more kind and goodhearted people out there than bad ones. Case and point, on this sunny January morning, an anonymous act of kindness was shown at RANDIE’S FREE LIBRARY. People are attracted to bad news. I am amazed at the crowds that gather around a bad event just to leer. Bad news gets people to read newspapers and watch television news, among other means of getting news as simple as hearing what your neighbor has to say over the fence. On social media, people generate conspiracy theories that aren't provable.
You're right about people being generally kind and generous. It's just that money drives everything and bad news is money based on viewership, readership, etc. Good news rarely sells like bad news.
Keep a level head, be kind to everyone, and we'll be surprised how little bad news there is in our lives. Unless our children are caught up in drugs, a cult, or depressed to the point of suicide. It's up to us to make our children healthy and happy. Don't neglect them.
