Wait'll you get a load of this.

Hello Everyone,

I had actually planned to write a blog today, but it was going to be about more milestones and the new resources blog I published.

I suppose I will start with the good news. I was really excited yesterday when I saw that my stories have reached over 5,000 views on here. By the time you read this, my total pageviews will be over 15,000.

So, yesterday we were at our friend's apartment. A different friend than from before, but they're one of our neighbors. For personal reasons, they were giving us their cat, Maxwell, shown in the image above.

We had taken our wagon to collect the litter box and some food and litter, and he was going to ride on top in his carrier.

There wasn't enough room to pull the wagon inside her apartment due to her child's wheelchair and the fact that it's a tiny apartment like ours.

We had loaded up the litter box, litter, food, and my wife handed me her sweatshirt which I laid on top, and then she said that we still had to catch him.

It only took us maybe three minutes, but in that time, someone had taken off with our wagon. I didn't know it at the time, but her phone and wallet were in her sweatshirt.

As we came out to put the cat on the wagon, I immediately took off looking down the halls, listening for the wobbly wheel, but nothing.

I happened to pass by someone and asked them if they had seen someone passing by with a red wagon and they said that they had gone up to the sixth floor.

I ran up there, but nothing. I went to call my wife and after just three rings, it went to voicemail, and I immediately knew that her phone had been stolen.

I searched around for a minute or two, constantly calling the phone. After half a dozen calls or so, they picked up, and it sounded as though I had woken them up.

They claimed that they had found the phone and that they were at a nearby restaurant, and when I asked them to stay there and that I was on my way, they kept repeating, 'Reward.'

I was pissed at this point, but I held my ire and tried to keep them on the phone while I made my way there.

As I was running through the front area of our apartments, my wife and our friend managed to see me through a lobby window and I just pointed to where I was going and kept running.

I managed to get them on the phone again as I had blamed them for stealing our phone and then asking for a reward. The gall of these new thieves.

When I got to the restaurant, there was no one there on a phone, nor anyone like I was expecting to see, which is most likely the types I see going to the methodone clinic across the street from our apartments.

I think they hung up again and that was when my wife and friend caught up with me, and I explained everything. I kept calling them and calling them as we tried to figure out what to do.

They picked up again and just said, 'reward' again, and I pleaded our case to them, basically saying that you can't get blood from a turnip.

Meanwhile, my wife and friend had flagged down a police car and so they were involved.

The person on the phone claimed that they were at the restaurant across the street next, but when I looked over there, there was no one in its lobby except for a worker cleaning a table.

After all that, we decided to just go home and cut our losses. Luckily our friend had just gotten a new phone and still had her old one, which is only a few months old. We canceled the debit card they stole, but she still has to get a new driver's license now, and she has no idea where her birth certificate is.

But wait... there's more!

This morning we had to go to the store to get some veggies for the piggies. As we go through the light, there's two lanes that go forward, and the one we took turns into a turn lane pretty much right away.

Everything was cool until the guy next to us just starts driving into our lane. I had nowhere to go and moved over a little and stopped, but not before he rammed into the front corner panel that was already damaged, and so it took the brunt of the impact merely scratching his car.

Luckily, he decided to stop, but then got out of his car and said, "Why didn't you get out of my way." He was an older Asian man, but I couldn't believe it. He was trying to blame us, but he shut up pretty quick when I yelled that there were two lanes coming through the light, which he obviously didn't realize.

We told him to drive up to the shopping center ahead of us as we were in a precarious spot. Traffic was very busy. My wife had called our friend as it's her car, which she is planning to get rid of soon, and she told us not to worry about it, and so we just drove away as the guy was just pulling into the parking lot of the shopping center.

I saw the damage to his car. There were no dents, just some paint marks and some scratches. Nothing that can't just be buffed out. Do I feel bad? Maybe a little, but it was totally his fault, and we've had enough dealings with authorities in the last few days. Our anxiety has just been through the roof, causing my wife's PTSD to flare up over and over.

The worst part to me is the fact that we have no way of hauling a 120 pound bail of hay up to the fourth floor without our wagon. Our friend has one, but I'm worried that if it's a cheap one that it might not be able to handle the load.

Ours was an older model from around the time the collapsible wagons came out.

So, how's your week been going? I hope its calmer than mine because I feel pretty fried.

So, yeah... I guess that's all of it. My wife wants me to share the wish list we put together. Just a wagon and some litter, but the wagons aren't cheap. There's no harm in asking for help I suppose.

Wish List

Thank you so much for reading. Have a wonderful day....[[|:-)

When it rains it pours. It looks like you're going to put that week behind you. Any hope in tracking down that phone?

My week? A contractor in my home fixing everything he sees like turning touchup into totally repainting. Big bucks spent. Still a 40-year-old house.
