As I sat here tonight watching Larry King interview Bill Mahr making fun of Christians and those who believe in God. I felt a little angry. How dare he deride people for their beliefs. He pokes fun at Christians as if they were weak minded people. He has the concept that he, and he alone has all the answers. Could it be the pot that admitted to smoking in Amsterdam or 12 miles off the U.S. Coast. Perhaps, he doesn't like Christians because they don't believe in taking chemicals that knowlingly has been proven to cause genetic changes and result in children being conceived and born with abnormalities. Then I remembered that we are all sinners and have come short of the grace of God. The anger soon passed as I remembered that God is not mocked. So, I was reminded to pray for those who cannot see the light.
God is in one's heart and soul. He helps us do things that we should do to help mankind. To go one step further, to give our all, just as our troops are doing today. It is not a sin to fight for freedom, but is a sin for good men to do nothing. We are Americans because we have a belief in God and Son. Our Country was established on this very principle and will fail only if we let those with unholy ideas destroy her.
God is Still around and he is waiting for you to decide, you have free will. Good or evil, which is it? Only you can make your decision.
Sometimes when we pray, our answer may not come as we wish, and I am so glad that God answered my prayer in a way that was benefical to my soul. He gave me more than I even dreamed to ask for.
Please read my poem to see why I beleive that GOD IS STILL AROUND.
So, let me get on to the poem. My mother was dying from an incurable brain tumor at age 77. She was in nursing home and I prayed that I would be there at the moment when she left this world. One day, I got the call, and I had to wait for a cab because my husband had the car and I could not reach him. By the time I got there, she was gone. I was so unhappy, and asked God why could I not have been here to say goodbye. I questioned God and then I just said, there must be a reason and I leave it all to you Lord, and that is when this poem happened to me and left no doubt to me that GOD IS STILL AROUND.
The Last Time I Saw Mama.
The last time I saw Mama, it was a sight to behold...
The last time I saw Mama, it really touched my soul..
She lived a life of hardship, poverty and strife.....
A sainted woman struggling to give us the best she could in life..
She never had fancy clothes, silver or gold...
She had much more than that, she had beauty of the soul.
Then sickness came upon her and we knew she could not stay..
That it would not be long until she went away...
I prayed, "Dear God, let me be there on that final day,..
When you send the angels to take her away"...
When the call came, I arrived too late..
Mama had already passed through life's gate...
I started to cry..I couldn't understand the reason why..
I couldn't be there when she said goodbye.
I looked at her so pale and thin...
A pretty scarf around her head, where once long hair had been.
Trusting in his will, I bowed my head to pray,
and that's when God took all my doubt away..
for a scene unfolded, like a motion picture, before my eyes,
Let not your heart be troubled, no one ever dies...
In a garden of serenity...sat Mama dressed in a lovely gown,
pretty hair around her face...
wrinkles and pain faded away as mother filled with grace..
she looked up in awe at the man ..
who stood before her with outstretched hand...
a welcoming gesture to a brand new land.
He turned and looked at me, for he knew that I could see..
This last glimpse of Mama, God's Gift to me.
