The return of intercommunal clashes resembling the situation of the late 1930's and early 1940's comes as no surprise given the permanent escalation pursued by the regime in power. The experience gained from contemporary history is that where contradictions are not effectively resolved, the situation simply resets to its starting position.
This seems to be an inevitable law of dialectics and motion. Where movement is blocked, things reset and will continue to do so until contradictions are resolved and the movement forward becomes possible. The earlier this is grasped, the more beneficial it will be for all of us.
Technically, the possibility of some form of normalisation may have existed prior to the 1967 occupation but ever since then this option is unrealistic, since all existing conditions preclude it.
I firmly believe that a super-realistic approach should be taken, which takes all existing social, economic and political conditions into account.
Such an approach can only lead to the formation of a bi-national, pluralistic and multi-cultural state with a strong focus on national reconciliation, social needs, economic progress on a solid and equitable basis and an equal share in all existing and future resources.
It is clear that this project cannot be achieved without continuous popular resistance against all institutions that stand in the way of its realisation, in the interest of all parties involved. Such resistance must take multiple forms and be pursued by multiple movements, parties and organisations, while its success can only be the result of close cooperation between all Arab and Jewish forces opposed to the current state regime. In this sense, it is crucial to achieve an equilibrium of all those forces, which are to be addressed as the germ cell of the federal republic to emerge from our mutual endeavour, assuring in this way that the political process set in motion by it will not be to anyone's detriment save to that of reactionary and socially counterproductive elements.
It is in this context that I am calling for a broadening of resistance and for the creation of a united progressive front against oppression and war aspiring for a one-state-solution opposed to ethnic domination and based on the recognition of the rights of all citizens, including those displaced and exiled in the course of the 1948 Zionist conquest.
My chief interests are and will always be those, which I know to be identical with those of the people at large: bread, peace, national reconciliation and free unfolding of our full individual and collective creative potential.
I believe your article is a dream that would work. I believe that most people hate hatred and division, and war. But revenge is a powerful motive and much revenge continues to take place instead of real reconciliation. I believe you are right and the Internet can help young people understand that there's a better way where everyone would benefit from the economic development of the region instead of constant separation, genocide and wars. Primarily propagated by ancient religious tenets that are no longer valid in the 21st-century.
