New Orleans: A city frozen in time, shrouding the mysteries of the past in the frenzy of the present. "The Big Easy", where it's easy to turn up missing...or Dead.

Being the Deputy Medical Examiner isn't such a bad job in New Orleans. There are a lot of strange murders to solve, and everyone's DYING TO MEET YOU...

Rick Tusgrin, D.M.E., has a few advantages over the typical coroner: a twisted sense of humor from laughing in the face of death every day...A superhuman rate of healing...and the ability to communicate with the dead. It comes in handy when 'accidental' deaths aren't, and some murders don't seem to be caused by humans...

(How can a TV show drive viewers to suicide? Who is killing people with a weapon so advanced it can't exist yet? What carnivore has teeth seven inches long? Why is every rat in the city attacking the residents of one slum? Where did a killer find a trident two thousand years old?)

The Police want simple explanations, fast. The dead want justice, and they won't take no for an answer. Rick is caught in the middle, fighting dark forces to save the living and his own sanity...

(Once an experimental screenwriting 'pet project' seeking to improve on television horror series such as KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER, THE X-FILES and others, The VOODOO HIGHWAY franchise created by K.K. has grown to TWO feature-length pilot scripts, EIGHT hour-long teleplays, THIRTY screen stories and ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY LOGLINES.

Why? It's simple: "Once you get Rick Tusgrin in your head, he's there to stay." Says K.K. "You find yourself thinking 'How would Rick handle this situation?'---I might even start a line of T-shirts that say 'WWRD'--What Would Rick Do?"

The series premise has attracted the up-and-coming mystery writer PAUL JOHNSON of New York City, who immediately wrote the teleplays for "DISPATCHed", "Chaos Rising" and the feature-length 'Prequel' "OVERKILL: DYING TO MEET YOU TOO".

Acclaimed Las Vegas photographer Kelly Garni has contributed a series of chilling stills featuring the "Indestructible Hallucinating Rock & Roll Coroner". Numerous actors and actresses across the Internet have expressed interest in roles, and
The series has also been invited for consideration by MTV, VH-1, FARNHAM FILMS and other production entities.

"It really IS a case of leading horses to water." K.K. says. "With the success of projects like THE SIXTH SENSE, and the new interest in the supernatural, VOODOO HIGHWAY has got 'hit' written all over it...but it takes an enormous amount of effort to get people to see that, and frankly, we've all got other things to do, as well." He says, pointing out his other books CLOWNWHITE and INHUMAN RESOURCES, acting roles, and Paul Johnson's own DELICIOUS project.

What's next? "Serial novellas, the kind that BUFFY and The X-FILES have spun off of their own episodes. Possibly a comic book as well, from the same team that created ZEN THE INTERGALACTIC NINJA. There's a treasure trove of great material here, and we WILL get it to the public, through hell or high water."
