Getting published can be a long and frustrating process. Even after being offered a contract there are many high and low points. At times I've felt like a yoyo bouncing between walking on air and trudging through mud. Signing the contract has to be the highest of highs. Then you wait for your first edits. This can take months and after awhile the high wears off and you begin to feel a little down.
