Jerry Falwell had a 'revelation' that racism was against Christ, and changed. Then he went on to form the Moral Majority.

Ego and pride, power and prejudice, so many of the bad and good things in us can be sparked by 'contact' with the Divine. It is interesting what it does to different people.

There are the Bible characters who had communication from God. Many of them didn't want that communication, didn't apply for their job, and didn't want to go through the torture of the task that was Given them. Enjoying life was far more preferable than going up against society.

Many were Given very difficult lives, which seemed to temper their souls, pride, and egos. The 'privilege' of Words from God came at a very great personal cost. It seems when God is serious, not only is the message contrary to the conventional wisdom, but contrary to the messenger's best interests too. Reluctance in a messenger, an ugly struggle within themselves, is usually a good sign of the efficacy of the message.

Since spiritual reality is pretty thin in religion, we are concerned only with the spirituality of humans, not the spirit world, it is easy to get confused with mystical experience. We don't know much about the spirit world, so we don't know how to interpret events when it intrudes in our reality. Charlie Manson, Osama bin Laden, even Falwell, fell into their own personal trap. Did Falwell really know God, or just his theology?

It seems that you don't go to Divinity School when it comes to messages from God. You learn through the School of Hard Knocks.

When I suddenly began to have visions, followed by actual events, then Words from God entering my life, they were all a puzzle and put to all the rational tests that a modern university education can muster.

I was a cynical corporate manager, with five girlfriends, quite satisfied with pursuing life as we know it. And spiritual matters were interesting stories of anomalies for other people, but had little impact on the dry pursuits that we are forced to live in modern life.

Control your reality, create your joy in life, and the crap is just stupid emotion that really meant nothing in the end. You're born, you live, you die. Big deal. It meant nothing, really.

The visions were interesting experiences, intellectually. I decided to see where they lead. And they were so profound, intriguing, puzzling, I had no idea where they were coming from at first, but sounded like an interesting 'trip' that landed on my doorway without invitation; like expanding your life by exploring new experiences in yoga class or a vacation to the Andes Mountains.

Nothing made sense. After a week of having visions and experiences, I realized this was the Great Spirit, whoever that was, but I knew God didn't exist, so who was this Consciousness? And why was He validating a Native perspective instead of a Christian one? What was wrong with civilization?

I threw myself on the side of the bed, asking 'Who Are You?' In words that I can never express, God and the Great Spirit become One.

When God gets that close, you cannot imagine the exhaustion you feel. Later I realized there are numerous stories of others in history who went through the same physical and psychic experience. If we ignored theirs, we'd have to throw out major chunks in our belief systems' foundations. If it was an anomaly, I would have found it interesting. But the experiences just kept coming, reinforcing and expanding the visions, events, and messages.

But how do you tell anyone about your experiences with 'God?' It is not allowed, and defaults to a diagnosis of delusion. Especially since it did not conform to what religion and society has decided reality is.

I was introduced to the Spirit World by God. We only concern ourselves with four spirits in Western society: God, Jesus, souls and the devil. God introduced me to the Spirit of Mother Earth, and the consciousness and wisdom within the animals, trees, and rocks. This is dismissed as 'animism.' That attitude is held by those who have never had their rational equation of reality challenged, the kissing cousins of Christianity and science. The concepts of their daily experience reinforces and protects against anything interrupting the logic of their reality.

I was shown my soul. Then introduced to past lives. I resisted with every skeptical argument psychology and religion can throw at it. But the experiences kept coming out-of-the-blue, to the point I had to question why we reject reincarnation. And had to discover the reality of who we are, if our soul and life are not singular, unique entities solidly defining us.

Upon discovering the soul's story over multiple lifetimes, this life takes on an entirely different meaning. And you see what is genetic and what your soul brought with it. Then you face truths about yourself that you have not dealt with.

There are many other things I could describe. Upon later reflection, I realized that somewhere in the world each of these were already known. But none of it has come together into a whole new understanding of 'reality.' Science and rationalism reign. I was Given a grand tour of spiritual reality, without human guidance. It appears all those experiences cannot not talk to one another in global civilization, outside of peace treaty negotiations.

One of the first thing God said to me was:

"The Earth remains flat

Time come soon

Gather, Gather"

And over and over again:

"Tell them

I am All."

Huh??? What did that mean? The first thing we learn in history are the explorers, who figured out the world was round by sailing around it.

Slowly I came to realize that human civilization, human consciousness, is flat. It is run on knowledge, concepts, data, the mathematical equations of science, rationalism, controlling reality as an inert object. The only thing 'conscious' is the human being.

But even those areas that acknowledge consciousness remain flat as well. Nothing is whole.

Eastern religion knows that consciousness, matter and energy are the same thing. But it doesn't acknowledge that God has a 'specific' consciousness. To them, this is impossible.

Science knows that energy and matter are the same thing, but leaves out consciousness.

Judeo-Christian-Islamic belief is founded on God's specific consciousness, but He is separate from His Creation. Reality is divided between God, humans and inert matter, the dust of Genesis now called molecules by science.

Hindus still believe in spirits, and manifestations of 'God.' But not a singular consciousness of God.

Buddhists believe in a vast 'blank' mind field.

And humans always seem to think they are somehow very special in all of this, except Atheists who define us as momentary formation of chemicals.

Nothing is whole.

So the Earth does remain flat. The only people who have kept it whole are the Native People. And they are too strange for most civilized people to consider.

"Time come soon, Gather, Gather."

Okay? What did that mean?

It seems the Divine wants to give humanity a fighting chance. Look at the trajectory of global culture now. We in the West have gone through two world wars and a Great Depression to adjust to industrialization.

Change creates instability. The rest of the world is in the middle of that transformation. The global capital markets are skittish, too big for even the United States to control. Ten years ago little Thailand had a crisis that nearly put the world into a depression. Few realize that.

China is in the middle of a massive economic bubble, socially destabilizing a society of 1.5 billion people, while we become economically reliant upon it.

Today, the U.S. housing market is in meltdown, which would normally be a national event. But our interdependent global economy based on the fear-and-greed of the capital markets is making the world economy shake right now.

Our survival system is based on money, business and science. If those fail, there is no money to buy food. If the business supply chain to the grocery store fail, we all starve. Let's hope they don't go bankrupt on a mass scale.

Put those Achilles Heels on top of a deteriorating environment, with storms, water shortages, etc., and one wonders why we put our faith in Washington and Beijing to do the right thing. We are still going to war for resources. The U.S. is planning to occupy Africa to ensure its supply of oil. Do we learn anything? It seems modern civilization is run on an alternate logic. We put our faith in the logic of the system, and trust our organizers, as long as they supply the money and food.

We are entering a time of extreme crisis. Civilized institutions are not global in scale to control the capital that keeps our survival system working. Societies are under extreme pressure of industrial change. The environment is now on autopilot toward global warming, though we think it's not. Many actually believe that Beijing, Washington, and New Delhi can be convinced to stop it. Shutting down factories is good for Nature, but not for getting re-elected. We want 'green' S.U.V.'s coming out of our factories, not smoking vehicles from the industry. The disconnect is so vast, we just hope technology can save us, like it did before. There is no alternative.

So who needs to Gather?

We are sitting on a ticking time bomb. It's plain to see. If our survival system fails, millions will starve. No society still 'lives with the Earth.' We have corrupted everyone to be dependent on money, business and science. Is anyone's back yard big enough to supply them with food?

Starving people are desperate people. Desperation brings out the truth of where our hearts are at. If those of good heart don't start creating an alternative to our civilized society, humanity is doomed by not only wars from economic stress and competition, but also our poisoned 'environment.'

How do you make the Earth 'round' in the invisible human mind again? Consciousness beyond the human, and even 'God,' is too strange for us. We cannot consider the life of Nature beyond an environmental system. Every religion is still a fortress, so there is no spiritual alternative.

Modern individuals have issues with abusive dominance and very limited spiritual experience, and other cultural baggage that is very hard to let go of, like consumer behavior and the comforts we feel entitled to.

And non-religion, the free 'New Age' type spirituality is about self-development and personal healing. If we don't pool our collective spiritual wisdom into a new whole globally, religion will be seen as a villain of failure, not hope. We have based both religion and society on knowledge, converting what wisdom we had to meet the needs of our dominant mind. It didn't work.

How do we construct a society, once again, based on Wisdom? That is a long road to walk. Wisdom is now one of those little used words that has only vague connotations, like mercy, morals and bastard. Meaning is debatable. We will not be dominated by someone else's 'spin.'

We don't understand how deep the core of our misunderstanding about reality goes.

"Tell them, I am All." Direct communication from a veiled God? Our radar is up for a ruse. Yet God seems to be saying that everyone has some handle on some truths. Specific consciousness of God. Non-specific. Christ, Hindu, Buddhist, Native, even Atheists who are in awe of the human spirit of discovery. There is science, shamans, mystics, psychics, priests, monks, earth religions, cosmic understandings, the list is endless. Fragments everywhere.

But humans go back to what they are comfortable with to explain things, because there is nothing pressing them forward. Without Wisdom, Truth and Love being used together, knowledge will be used for hate and lies. We have to use what we know of our God, to see 'their' God and stretch what reality actually is in the human mind. We are dominated by scientific logic, that defines reality as what we can see, feel, and ultimately control for our security. Everything else is optional.

Our greatest enemy right now is inertia. We have debating societies in the media and online. Business and science does what Jesus told us to do: feed the masses and heal the sick, using money instead of the heart as the conduit. Christianity, remember, had 2000 years to do this, and failed.

But do we really take in the depth and breadth of the global human picture. Action is left to the businessmen, the Pentagon, and hopes for African villages converting to consumerism for their Salvation.

If God is All, and we face right now the 'All' of humanity with the environment, then we need to step up putting together what we all know about reality in a real hurry. Right now we are broken up into little pieces, dependent only on science and business growth as both our survival system and Achilles Heel. We don't realize the limits of knowledge. We are drowning in it.

God has pretty much left us alone for the last 12,000 years, as we evolved from mythic Adam's choice of choosing to live by knowledge over wisdom. If we wanted some help in our civilized lives, God would give us some tips. But other than that, it was like He wasn't around.

Most are now convinced there is nothing to compare with human consciousness in reality. We are alone in a universe of molecules. It's only logical.

So the terrain of human consciousness remains flat, even for those who are 'spiritual.'

My grand tour of spiritual reality took me into the realities of the major spiritual traditions. I had to piece together a different 'whole' picture based on the pieces that each tradition knows to be true . God seems to think its a good time for everyone to get together. Surveying the global prospects for 21st century humanity, He may be on to something.

But the last thing civilization wants is more authority over it. We thought we had just corrected the nightmare of human history. It seems if we don't open our eyes, the bad dream will continue. The comfort of the rational West appears to be existing in the eye of the storm. Here comes the other half of the hurricane.

The Earth remains flat, the reality of the rational, civilized mind. If we don't gather the whole picture, of 'reality' and the limits of our survival system, then Nature will certainly flatten us.

Most of us just hope that our organizers will save us. The TV news tells us about the melting Arctic, and then is followed by a car commercial.
