One time I had anchored in St. George's sound, out from Carrabelle, Fl. for a night of debauchery. The next morning we awoke to fog so thick I could barely see the front of the boat. I had to sit down with the GPS and plot my exact position. I found out if I had gone the way I thought, I would have run aground. I turned and motored for 2 minutes then turned correctly into the channel. It was so foggy a Cormorant sat on my mast all the way into the marina. I thought that was funny as hell. I guess he figured I knew where I was going, and I actually did. It's a great feeling to be right......
One of the many things government does well for us sometimes keeps us off the rocks. Although running aground creates an adventure story, too. Nicely told.
An experience well shared, Walt. I imagine being there, in the fog and all. Sometimes (quite often) the river and mountains vanish here... ...in the fog. It is quite a different perspective. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,
moments we all savor Walt, being right - there are periods for most of us when that is the exception rather than the rule. The cormorant was a very special species, one of a very few, the I can't believe I'm doing this species. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum? I wish you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael
