I know that my upbringing might have been severe by today’s standards, and it gives me some pain to remember the severity of it, and all though the effort were well intended, none the less left scars that barely heal. Those scars are of a psychological nature, a misery that visits my inner soul many times, a misery inflicted over and over again in the everyday frustrations of real life.  There is still a backlash to my unleashing the learned behaviour upon those I found in need of it, first of all my children, for I feared  unknowingly, for their later survival, I also applied it to truant employees, that brought lackadaisical attitudes to work. The older generation had more of a sense of a kind of responsibility owed to those that with whom they had a mutually beneficial relations, yet even there among some, there seemed to be the need to exert bad habits.
 

  I think you have guessed by now, I am speaking of punctuality, something that was drilled into me with Swiss precision, by all those around me, parents, teachers, and all the other mentors, that strafed my life.  You asked then why the scars, I found it excitingly difficult to bring those flowers of learning to bear fruit in others, for there needed always a reason, why, I was not well disposed to answer that, for that I had not time, yet, not that I not knew it’s most important aspect, and not that at one time or another would repeat it’s philosophy to spur better understanding of its nature. Assumption is that the big book in its wisdom would support some aspect of the importance of being on time.  If I read the good book right, not stealing was and is still one of the commands, and that is where the implications lie. No I was not told of that implication; it’s relevance to a request by father or mother to be on time, it was accepted out of respect for their authority, and the enforcement thereof. The enforcement thereof was not always pleasant, and could not as in today’s environ be arbitrated by outside opinions.  Honour your mother and father was still somewhat indulged in a metaphor to good behaviour.  Why good behaviour, who does it serve, well if you have to ask, go to the top of the page again, and read once more, and repeat if necessary. You will eventually get the gist of the flow of events that bind all together, and for good reason start with the title, that’s the important part. The title holds the implications of all the associations with punctuality and the wide ripples it casts among us fellow time travelers.
 

Stealing and all that goes with it, being the number one, respect for others limited time being a decisive factor here, why stealing, let’s consider that as a norm you have only a certain amount of that precious resource, it, being your life in this time and space, and not replaceable ever! Stealing time is stealing the biggest treasure man has, except for love.
 

Come to think of it “ not stealing,” would probably suffice as the only commandment needed. Lets see, you lie, you steal truth, you covet someone else’s wife, you steal his or her love, you kill, you steal someone else’s Life,.etc…I don’t have to go on.
 

 Life is made up of time as I said, and lets suppose, you make them wait on you, then you are stealing  part of their life’s in small doses, their as I said most precious resource.  Like all acts of selfish behaviour, it has great impact on the rest of our fellow time travellers, in the sense that they themselves now have to steal times resources from others, and therefore not just impact them alone.  Think it through, you are on an assembly line and the parts unattended become now or in time redundant, the ripple effect, for instance on your employer, the factory, your home town its people the nation etc competing against those that obey this most valuable commodity in general. You can cause economic misery
 

to your fellow citizens, and then all the attendant pain that goes with it. To bring it to more closely to your body, and the immediate impact it could have, your comrades
 

taught you to act in unison, so to better stay alive, and the defence forces as a whole anywhere surely use that same principle, but you as an individual disregard that principle, you would then most likely have caused someone’s death, if you expand on the implications, well you can see what I mean by just these few examples.
 

Why then would I write about such a subject so oft discussed and abused?
 

At this very moment I am waiting for a roofer to finish his job, and it is raining in buckets literally, my frustrations anxiety and phobia over such a fluid subject still surface readily,
 

This pains me to no end, which brings me to another so flaunted moral dilemma, promises, I shall pay you for your promise with money, that time has consumed, all of this time part of my life, for part of your life, you are willing to share at this moment, no more no less. I perform my promise to you and my duty to compensate you, yet you steal time from me, not showing up in time, like this morning for the fifth time, although the wife spend time from six to eight waiting on you again, you steal my resources of having to collect water in an overflowing tub in the attic, and bail it every hour, while I could have spend time to enrich my life’s resources, and the wife’s sleep which she needs desperately, you stole the five thousand dollar cheque and the guarantee that went with it,
 

You then ran like Mathilda toward the beach now resting with rum and coke I suppose, and buy happiness with stolen time, and probably tip the waiter with funny money, like give them rain cheques. Etc..if love wasn’t another of Gods wonderful resource of which I have plenty, I would hate you, I hope that slice of lemon sort of sticks in your throat, just sort of sharing my feelings about you. Well my friend there seems to be a consolation I find, in that in general society today, in the me generation doesn’t give two hoots about whose time they are stealing, and you are most likely in good company. I am writing this on my portable as I sit in my doctors office now, who is trying to give me the life back that he is stealing from me right now, but at exorbitant cost, yes I have given up on the roofer, and I might as well waste my time somewhere else, the only water that is leaking in this waiting room are my tears for some of these poor people here, who I think by the looks of them, have very little time left.
