The Season of Now!

Season's Greetings I wrote this to inspire poeple to not to take family and time for granted. We are truly blessed and we are held accountable to be a blessing to someone else. If it is nothing but a hug, smile or giving a kind word. Remember there is no better time than now to make a difference!

I’ve heard it’s the best time of the year, but pockets are crying eyes, once striding legs are bended knees praying for peace while the

Storms are ragging making the winds hate on the warmth of hope.

But I’ve heard an old man say in his wisest and coldest days,

“If you’re not living in the present then you’ve never opened God’s best gift called now!”

Indeed there is no better time!
No better season than this one!

Now, where we can still smell the pumpkin pie, taste the old spice, nutmeg, cinnamons,

Mints and greens when all around us is turning red, orange, and that ugly yellow that

Cowers in the face of change.

But I still believe we are colorful in this winter.  Even in our coldest fall

I still believe we’re bright as Christmas lights around the frosted window to know that this is an opportunity to shine in the coldest silent night

A chance to hug parents that taught us to stand evergreen in the wind.

An hour not to be wasted just being minute hands, but a moment to tell a brother or sister to come  sit down at our warm table and help yourself to seconds

Because what's mine is yours too!

It’s the beginning of the lighting of the tree and the rest of our lives.

Where we cry together, eat together and still sing together

In the worst accord but in the greatest harmony.

It is the birth of our New Year free without dying resolutions or beaten dreams.

It is the birth of infant sayings that don’t walk away saying, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

But they are new sayings that start things off right again by crawling

Slowing down long enough to just say,
“I love you today!”

“I love you in this season always, now & forevermore!”

Soul-warming, Chris. I would change the 4th line from "ragging" to raging though. You certainly have a way with words. One of the most talented poets on this website for certain sure. --Charlie
