Almost every culture speaks of Earth, Fire, Air and Water as the basic elements of our world, our building blocks.  Everything we need for energy can be found in those four words.  I won’t split hairs (or atoms) on the pros and cons of nuclear power here.  I’ll just touch on the alternatives to it.

Fortunately we recognize that the earth can’t keep up with our oil use so we are looking for ways to convert sewage to oil.  Solar power is being used more in individual homes and windmill farms are cropping up everywhere.

We are familiar with the use of hydropower for creating electricity.  But up until recently that has been from fresh water sources.

NASA has developed a way to utilize the energy pulsing through ocean waters to help power underwater vehicles.  They are working to further develop this technology and create underwater hydrokinetic energy systems.  These systems will carry that same power up to us but on a larger scale.

I would like to see funds granted to NASA for this project instead of building new nuclear plants. 

While I’m at it, we need a solar panel for every roof and a windmill on every corner.

Now there’s a campaign promise!
