I'll begin with the sighting I said I would tell you about last week. I received this as an email and I'll write it just as it was written.

     "In 1976 my parents were moving to Tenmile near Suicide Creek (Oregon). One evening around dusk, Dad and Mom were driving a Volkswagen, pulling a small trailer back from the property they were preparing. My brother was following them when the event I am telling you happened. Dad saw something run onto the road; he thought it was a man. It was standing upright and was very dark. He swerved to miss it, but the trailer hit it.

     "My brother saw it also. They pulled over at the Porter Creek store, as they were only about fifty yards from there. They all ran back to see if they could help what they were sure was man dressed in dark clothing. They searched everywhere, in the ditches and the areas nearby but could find nothing. Dad said maybe it was a bear or something, but why was it standing upright? . . . Mom and Dad have both passed away, now, but believed to the end that they had hit a Bigfoot."

(There is more to this story. I'll tell you about it next week when I get permission to tell the "whole story." I need permission to tell the "whole story" because when I met with the sender of this email, I said I would leave out a certain portion of the story to protect him/her from callers and interested ones. But after thinking about it, I've decided to tell it all. Since I will not use the name, there is little chance that he/she will be "hounded") More next week.

Last week, Pete Serafin, a local author and big game hunter has a photo of a footprint that he came across while  hunting in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. He believes this is positive proof Yeti of that area do exist. I called to get permission to include the photo, but couldn't get him. Perhaps I'll include the photo in a future column.
