a brief reminder of how to get the most out of each moment.

LET GO

Let not the grievances of yesterday get a hold on today.  Release them from your mind as you release an unwanted object from your hand.  Open your hand slowly and visualize the falling away of a toad or a prickly thorn, anything that you don’t want.  Watch it fall.  Feel the release of tension in your hand.   Now do the same in your mind.  Let go of the small, the petty, the tightly held displeasure that provoked unhappiness yesterday.  If it was worth being provoked about, it was worth speaking up about but the time has passed and you didn’t speak up, so let it be.  Let it go.  Release; leave space in your mind for fresh, new thoughts and sensations to enter.  Look around you.  What do you see?  Light filtering through thickets of leaves, jaunty flowers standing tall facing their day with full floral pleasure.  They aren’t pouting and don’t you either. LET GO
