VICTORY OVER ANGER
by: LInda Law
Anger is a reality in everyone's life! There are some who have short fuses and blow up; others can't deal with the anger so they hold it in and allow it to grow.
God wants you to be victorious! (1Corinthians 10:12-13) BEFORE the problem of anger presents itself. He has given you the way out, the way to be victorious and to guard against Satan seeking to defeat you. Have faith by thanking Him for your victory, Philippians 4:13, Luke 1:37, 1 Cor 15:57. If you believe you have failed, go to 1 John 1-8; l John 2:2.
When you are "unforgiving" you are one moment away from being angry and depressed; thus...you give the person you will not forgive complete power and control over YOU! Humble yourself (Romans 12:3), and recognize that you are the steward of the blessings that God has given you. Choosing to not forgive is a form of rebellion against God. (Psalms 51:4, and 1 John 1:9)
Be faithful in studying God's word, in order to allow God to live within you and change your wrong thinking. Be a good communicator by listening carefully; then speak only those words that you can say that are truly spoken with love. You are in control of a dangerous weapon...your mouth! (James 2:1-12; Prov 8:8-15:1).
Total commitment to the right conviction will bring about success and change (11 Cor 5:17). Living positive is an ongoing process, and it becomes a continuation of ridding negative thinking and replacing it with God's thinking from the Word of God.
ANGER - (Ways people justify negative actions!)
(A) Attitude - When you are attacked, attack back! "Everybody does it" .... (N) Negative - "Nothing ever goes right" .... (G) Guilt - Being bitter and resentful always brings anger! .... (E) Emotion - Emotions are out of control when you refuse to alow your brain to do what it should! .... (R) Rejection - Being rejected by others is not being accepted by them.
As you read the words attached to ANGER that are listed above....it becomes apparent that YOU have DECIDED TO GET ANGRY! When you rationalize it this way: Other people irritate me, frustrate and aggravate me, so I get angry! Have you stopped to realize that YOU decided to get angry...the other person/situation did not MAKE you choose anger...YOU chose it! Victory over anger is by being accountable for YOUR actions - (Romans 14:12)
This article is written for those who truly want to have Success over Anger in their lives. The biblical scriptures are listed in order to guide you directly to the written word that will enlighten you much more than by my word. My words are merely to assist you as I am only a human, imperfect; however....always seeking ways to keep Satan out of my life, keeping him from sneaking in the backdoor. By staying in Gods word, it strengthens me to invite God to enter through the front door so that I am better prepared to slam that back door on the Satan who is constantly seeking ways to slip in!
We ultimately choose our goal in life - my hope is that you will give this subject more serious thought, begin a plan to study the word in order to be better prepared; and also to make a commitment for yourself! Commit yourself to be spiritual, allow God's will and words to resolve conflicts. Glorify God by bearing fruit, involving yourself in positive works; avoid and resolve conflict in positive ways; and speak in the positive, allowing that resolution to be in your future!
Another note to this piece that I feel strongly about, and want to encourage you to consider is this: If you are not a Christian, or if you are a non-believer...my prayer is that you will find a way to make knowing HIM a goal and priority. If you are not ready to do that; it is still my belief that you can control Anger and turn it into Positive! You are the master of your own mouth.....Use it in a way that will bring goodness into your life! Seek Harmony, Peace, and encourage others through your kind words... it will amaze you how quickly your own life will change for the better!
Go in love.... and May God give you the courage and strength to look within yourself, and find the wonderful person that you are!!!

Our mouths and words are weapons! In these hard times, we anger quicker...and forgive less

Hi Linda,
Thanks for this very informative article, it really clarified some of our uncontrollable emotions, anger. May I add that anger also causes high blood pressure and stress that often leads to strokes and heart attacks.
