I have written on this subject at least once before, more I think.

It would be hard to chastise readers, whether new or otherwise, for not commenting on the work of different authors on Authors Den. There could be many reasons for them landing on the site and spending some time browsing. Even those who are registered readers are not sworn to some committment to critique the work.

But, in the case of those of us writing on a regular basis and submitting our work to be read, it would be logical to anticipate some kinf of feedback for our efforts. After all, we write to be read, don’t we?

Yes, we do have the stats to tell us how many hits on our various stories and articles we are getting, and that is, of itself, a great tool for us to use to determine the kind of articles the readership finds useful or simply enjoys reading. Yet, if I am correct, we also write, especially for this site, to hear what other writers think of our work, and how they believe we can improve our impact on the readership. We seek constructive criticism. Part of being a successful writer is being willing to accept criticism of our work.

Learning to evaluate another’s work is also helpful and a real part of the writing system. If we can see the flaws or places that need help in others, we should also be able to handle the criticism when it comes our way.

I hope all of you (at least those of you writers on Auithorsden who might read this) will take the time to consider my efforts here.

I don’t spend a great deal of time here, but I still find my stats a valuable tool to analyze my work. I would also like to see some critical comments as well.
