Struggling writers unite! Some of the finest work being produced comes from the POD and self-published authors. The major book companies do not even recognize us. They control the major bestseller lists, all the dominant book awards, but there are more of us than those few that hit the big time. As a peculiar side note, I read that some of the bestsellers are not even selling, yet they are listed because they were published by a huge book house. They control the industry and have put us in a corner we cannot get out of alone.
The AD is a great forum for us. I think many people know each other and some are friends. Alone, we continue to struggle for recognition, However, if we join hands and band together, supporting each other, who knows what can happen? By putting our selfish needs aside and helping each other, maybe we can turn some heads.
Those that are good at formatting for the self-published, lend your expertise. If you have marketing experience, share tips. Buy books by your fellow unknown artists. There are so many things we can do as a team...and the most important is to support each other!
I have met some gifted people at AD and even made lasting friendships. This is a terrific place to start the process.

An excellent idea, but most people, friendly or not know there is a competition. But perhaps we could create a club of "great unknown authors" I know there are many on this den just struggling to sell their books, I'm sure any one experienced would be will to help.
