After reading an article supporting legal abortion.

Most of the time if I disagree with something I just pass by and don't comment. My conscience wouldn't let me do it, this time.
I am not writing this to be contentious but simply speaking my heart. Things were very hard for girls back in those days. But that was then, this is now.
There is easy access to birth control and many attitudes have changed about out of wedlock babies. There are other ways to handle a child who is unwanted. Thousands of people in this country have been forced to adopt in foreign countries, while we kill American children by the thousands every day. Adoption is a real alternative and if choosing to parent,.. a woman can find many sources of support.
Abortion is not simply a procedure to get rid of a fetus, it's an industry that makes billions by selling baby parts. A fetus is not just a clump of tissues. By the time abortions are preformed the tiny heart is beating and the baby feels pain. Women want choice for themselves but the baby has no choice and no rights. People won't admit it but it's true .
If you think a woman can casually abort a baby and just go on with her life as usual, you are sadly mistaken. As a former client services director at a crisis pregnancy center I wish I had time to tell you about the young women who cannot deal with the aftermath of having an abortion, the guilt and the sorrow. I had old women come into my office seeking emotional and spiritual help because they had an abortion or abortions in their youth and have carried the guilt for years. It had disrupted their spirits and their lives.
There are many available methods of birth control. You don't even have to be of age or have your parents notified now. Inconvenience is no excuse for aborting a baby, abortion is not a form of birth control. Roe V Wade opened a door to the position our country is now in, where states are legalizing infanticide actually killing a baby after it's born. This is a holocaust situation.
85% of aborted babies in America are of African American parentage. Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood said, “We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the negro population.” It's no coincidence that nearly 80 percent of Planned Parenthoods are located in black and Hispanic communities today.
Women do still die from abortion in this day of anything goes, if you don't want your child, just kill it. I'm not saying that there should never be an abortion, obviously there are instances but convenience is not one of them.
And lastly, what about God? How does he feel about slaughtering the unborn? If someone doesn't believe in God, hopefully they still believe in justice and love. Is this nation bringing judgment on itself by shedding the blood of the innocent? I believe we are.
Well written and from your experience, very believable. I'm not sure what the article was that you read, but there are forces among us that write terrible things about abortion that are just not true. Making abortion a grizzly money business, rather than a lifesaving experience.
And as a man, what do I know? Why I don't like men deciding for women what women need. I only have experience in two areas: the disabled and teenagers with babies.
I once ate my lunch in our lunchroom with two 15 year old girls on summer internships at our university. Both of them had children and were talking about them as though they were dolls. They were both black girls who were caught up in a culture where young black men with no options in life pray on young girls and don't take responsibility like, for example, Herschel Walker. Those babies and of usually being taken care of by their grandmother without any positive male influence in their lives. It is systematic and needs to be changed. Family planning can do that in black neighborhoods by educating young women.
In spite of efforts among the disabled community, most severely disabled children, except those exploited by the media like Jerry Lewis did with "his kids" so many years, end up hidden away from society, in abject poverty, mistreated and rejected by their families by the time they reach adulthood. Many birth defects can be detected early on. Some can be repaired in the womb. But deciding to have a disabled child should take into more than just, "right to life."
Parents who desperately try to save their disabled children with expensive medical intervention often go bankrupt in the process. The parents give all they can to their disabled children until they can't anymore and have to give up.
If you have seen the suffering of disabled young people like I have, you would think it is better that they were not born. In spite of the miraculous accomplishments of people like Helen Keller and some of those with autistic talents that are exceptional. Those of us who are disabled in some way spend a lifetime of misunderstanding by others, low income if we have one, separation from society, and lots of pain and sometimes, mistreatment.
Family planning around the world is mostly education. When we use horror stories to educate we we are doing it to limit understanding, and even love. Part of the guilt that you have heard from women who have had abortions and regretted it later may come from the experience they've had with others who treated them badly for having made that decision.
