People, especially those in Western Society, have developed a "cause and effect" and "chance" mentality used to explain almost all human events. It is obvious to the inquiring mind or higher consciousness person that this is not acceptable because it limits knowing truth. Events referred to as exceptions or aberrations are too many and happen to often to be so classified.
Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) was the first person to use the term synchronicity. He defined synchronicity as physically conditioned relatively of time and space." He noted that "The connection between cause and effect turns out to be only statistically valid and only relatively true ."
Synchronicity is neither cause and effect or chance induced. It either transcends or is apart from cause and effect or chance. Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are apparently causually unrelated occurring together in a meaningful manner. To count as synchronicity, the events should be unlikely to occur by so-called chance.
A major component or force regarding synchronicity is Spirit. Synhcronicity and Spirit are inextricably related. However, the Spirit is at work, i.e., influencing and impacting events, when synchronicity is not present. It is not amiss to say that we will not better understand synchronicity until we better understand Spirit which has to be understood in a depth sense. For it is in the depth, not the height or breadth, that the Spirit can be truly known.
Whether there is anything that we can do to invite synchronicity is questionable or unknown. It certainly cannot be striven for. What is important, however, is that we live in the Spirit - engage in prayer, meditation, contemplation and silence. To these add, have a close relationship with nature. This lifestyle or way of being enables a person to recognize synchronicity when it is present, embrace it and receive the benefits that sometimes come on the wings of serendipity, that is, as unexpected benefits that do not result from any effort made by the recipient.
Having goals and plans can interfere with and often be a barrier to recognizing synchronicity. Living in the present, being in the flow and having faith make it likely, although not causing, a person to experience synchronicity.
So-called chance is not a factor in synchronicity. It is questionable as to whether anything happens by chance. And while cause and effect account for many occurrences nobody should be duped in believing that cause and effect account for most, if not all, occurrences.
The Chinese "I Ching," also known as "The Book of Changes," one of the oldest statements on man and the universe, embraces synchronicity. It provides insights into the differences in the Chinese mind and the Western mind and how the Western mind with a strong emphasis on science fails to glean much truth about man and the universe that defies science and analysis.
Now that you have finished reading this discourse, you may be surprised by joy that will be yours when you experience synchronicity in ways and more often than ever before. When that happens, receive the offerings with gratitude and celebrate. At such time you are a chosen celebrity of the moment, a moment that is not subjected to clock time, a calendar date or limited to earth space. This is an ah experience.

My life and worldly events have been tied synchronistically time after time after time and time again. I didn't consciously seek these connections but there have been so many that I could not help but become aware of these connections. I came to realize that these synchronistic and serendipitous events were signs - signs that lead me to a more profound truth.
