A scenario which actually happened.

What More Do You Want?

This question came to my mind earlier as I was contemplating my reaction to a situation that seems to continue to simmer in a not so positive manner.

For some reason, a certain person, who I will leave nameless, has taken it upon himself to become the  divider amongst the village.

Coming from a place many years ago with not even a ‘pot to pee in’ as my Mama would aptly put it, perhaps there’s issues from the past which want to prove a point in these latter years.

Sadly, though, it seems we’ve become the brunt of the ‘complaint’ department.

So, the question arose, ‘What more do you want?’

As I reflect over the past 4 years now, it is truly amazing to see how the ‘favor’ of God can catapult those who willingly pay the price, and reap God’s blessings.

I’ve stated more than once, many years ago, my philosophy became that of Nike-‘Just Do It’.

Talk’s cheap, unless you’re calling long distance. And I laugh at the boasters who puff out their chests and claim oh, they could do this, or that, or should do this or that, or might do this or that…and never do anything, but run their mouth.

We have proven if nothing else, we are doers, not talkers.

I’ve found those who have no business of their own love to get in anybody and everybody else’s. And I have to ask, ‘what more do you want’?

Of course, the underlying cause of disgruntled individuals is a heart matter. As we watch those who love to stir a stink, it’s very obvious to see the fruit of their labors…jealousy, envy, covetousness, anger, bitterness, greed, pride; just to name a few. There’s no peace, no joy, no love of God…just self-absorbed pessimists whose focus should be on their internal voids which can’t be filled with external ‘things’.

Truthfully, no matter how one tries to appease this type of mindset, it’s fruitless. If you don’t believe me, scroll a fb newsfeed and it’s apparent 60-70% of those who post fit the disgruntled mindset.

Some may say, ‘well, that’s just the way he/she is…or just don’t pay him/her any mind, bless his/her heart. Or, I’m not going to get in that drama circus…not my monkey.’

As a Christian, I’m at a point in my life now til the ‘push something under the rug or ignore it, it’ll go away’ attitude doesn’t cut it for me. I have become a confrontationalist, if it concerns me. If it’s not my business then I don’t tend to it.

He said, she said is a cop out…if you have a problem with me, come to me. Because, I can assure you, if I have a problem with you, I’m going to you.

And I’m going to confront this issue, with this question, ‘What more do you want’?

Of course, once this discourse is brought to the table, I will be the villain. No, had the villain stayed at home, tending to his own business, we wouldn’t have even had this conversation.

Nonetheless, my conscious is clear as I confronted the matter at hand, drew the line and will live by my conclusions. Tend to your own business, and leave mine and my guests alone.

We know the rules, and we abide by them. If the line is crossed, then is the time to confront the line crosser. Otherwise, try finding the peace giver, Jesus. When we allow Him full residence in our hearts, His love will cast out all fear; for fear has torment. And it’s pretty evident today the lack of God’s love in the hearts of many is tormenting them to death. Get the heart right, because if it’s not, hell is for eternity. No getting a second chance past our last breath!

‘What more do you want’? Me??? I want more of Jesus!
