Fyodor Mikhailovih Dostoyewski is one of my favourites. In another Biography’s short story and article I have already chosen the Russian writer to add something probably not known by everyone. This time I have chosen The idiot because the novel gives you a rich amount of hues in the different stories shaping a whole, and I have taken this whole; that is, the text, as something so funny I cannot some times refrain my laughter. Attention these that don’t know the story, and attention the ones that know, because you may get an idea about my imagination diverted to humour, a very esteemed gift, common to sages.

I haven’t got the book with me, perhaps I don’t write names faithfully from the original, but this is like I see it: Prince Myshkin travels on a train from Saint Pertersbourg to Moscow to live with members of his family he hadn’t ever met before. His family treated him not with much sympathy and Myshkin was humble but he knew at last he was the true heir of the family’s. Well, parallel to this, Myshkin falls in love with Aglaya, Army General’s daughter. At same time he is absorbed by Natasha, a beautiful girl always accompanied by friends.

Myshkin lost the two girls. We all knew it was going to happen with Natasha. A good person, humble character like Mishkin’s wouldn’t match with a girl like Natasha, only he had felt a special attraction and being absorbed some times completely. Aglaya was really in love with Myshkin. A little before of the book’s end Myshkin breaks down an old vase pushing it unconciously to the floor. Aglaya’s mother favourite vase!

He deserved it, I said to myself, and I and my imagination took the way to the funny of it. Look, he thought he could have had one or another and he didn’t get any at last. One fooled him and laughed at him, and the other, the general’s wife wasn’t going to forgive the clumsy Myshkin for having broken the vase!
