Have you ever noticed that the weather people on the air are all desperately reporting great danger in normal weather across the country? Apparently, trying to get bored watchers to watch them perform amid commercials making us all well again. But then again, maybe there is something about the weather that we should be concerned about.

Dear Brother,

I am writing because I believe you are in imminent danger. Every day now, regardless of what fake news TV channel I'm watching, they all speak in desperate tone about the danger lurking across the great bread basket of the United States…the weather.

Death stalks from the Western mountains to the Gulf states all the way across the country from Florida to New England. There are deadly tornadoes, derechos, wildfires, hail storms, lightning and floods. Not to mention the insidious drought that plagues our country and its crops leaving us a future of famine. In winter, we are faced with blizzards, far below zero temperatures, and deadly ice storms with power out long enough for citizens to freeze to death before they are rescued.

It is a dire, apocalyptic time. So, dear brother, you can escape to where I am where all we have are the usual droughts, watered by tropical storms, and the occasional hurricane to liven things up. At least, until the Gulf of Mexico comes lapping at my door.

Your Concerned Brother,

Ron

No one wants to doubt the warnings! There have been terrible storms, fires, floods etc. But the weather reporters sometimes don't know whether it will rain or not. You cancel every event you worked so hard to organize...and then it's sunny and nice. With all that technology, it's still anyone's guess!

We do get good laughs when weather people report about storms. Yes, they are sometimes destructive, and it's nice to warn people, but many times the melodrama is the show.

Global warming, creating climate change, is measured and real. The climate effects are found to be more severe every year.

But my satirical intention with this article was to spoof the lengths that weather reporters go when reporting weather, all trying to move up the ladder of success.

It all got started by Dan Rather, as he explains, in 1961.

The danger is real enough, but so is the power of that quality of humanity which prompts one to reach out with loving concern to a brother or sister or friend during such dystopian times. Thank you for sharing this deeply moving communication. Hope you hear from your brother soon.
