Dolly Parton 1946 to August 25, 2026 "Today Dolly Parton Went Home and Probably Sang All the Way!" by judy joy jones Wow how lucky was I to be alive the same time as Dolly Parton! The First Song I heard by Dolly was "LOVE IS LIKE A BUTTERFLY! And her Voice Singing it never left me. Today she went home and probably sang along the way!! Dolly had a chapel in every home she lived in and prayed everyday. You go Dolly, you Go! Your Sparkle Spread Heaven on Earth! Thank-You.��

I wish I had been paying attention while Dolly was out and about making this world a better place. She is the gift of love.

Yours among so many tributes. I was amazed to find out that she gave away 300 million books to children. What a legacy!

In 1971, my grandmother gave me her 17 inch black and white TV with rabbit ears before I left for West Virginia and my doctoral studies.

As I drove through Wheeling on my way there, I heard for the very first time, Country Roads, by John Denver and others.

Immersed in my deep studies in my little studio apartment, I turned on the TV every afternoon to the Wheeling channel to watch the Porter Wagoner show. What made the show work for me was to see Dolly Parton sing all those songs like an angel at such a young age.

I thought there might be a love connection between her and Porter. Yesterday, I heard that she wrote I Will Always Love You for him.
