My beginning as a writer 5/6/2013 1:23:23 PM
I started writing my first book at the end of 2009 after being laid off from my career job. I wasn't upset about it. In fact I was relieved. Thirty years in management can drive anyone crazy. I decided now that my kids were raised and on their own, I would do something for myself. If I was going to write a book, this was the time ... so I did.
On top of managing, I had also been a musician my entire life. I joined my first band when I was in the fifth grade and didn't stop. I still play, just not in the Hollywood clubs anymore.
Mangled Noize is a fictional name for my book; however I used the name for a band back in the 80's and again in 2000. It was a name I used when I was between singers and I had to sing. I wasn't a bad singer, I just preferred to write, play bass, and sing backup vocals.
Mangled Noize is a fantasy, but some of the stories are based on fact. I just won't say which ones.
I took some time off and cleared everything I had previously posted so I could start over with a fresh start. I have been working for the last year as a background actor which has been a lot of fun. I have worked on a lot of TV shows, pilots, some movies, and a few commercials. I have been face to face with many big name actors and worked repeatedly on all of the major studios in Los Angeles. As a result, I haven't been writing.
As the industry is going on hiatus, I am going to finish the second book in my series. It's written, and on its last edit before I edit it one last time and send to a pro to . . . edit again.
