We don’t have to wonder anymore. If we as a society allow this abortion holocaust to continue, we will have a front row seat to the answer. Make no mistake, the spirit that is animating support for this legislation is the same spirit that animated the creation of the killing fields, the gulags, and the concentration camps. Human life is either sacred or it isn’t. We dare not be naïve. If a newborn baby’s life isn’t sacred, neither is yours or mine. Please notice I said "newborn" which indicates the child is alive and viable. Since when is this described as abortion and not infanticide. If a mother bears a child and decides she doesn't want it and kills it she is normally charged with murder. If a pregnant woman is shot and the fetus is killed the perpetrator is charged with murder. Please explain to me the difference as I see none.
Let us continue a step further. I am now eighty four years old. How long will it be before it is decided I am no longer worthy of life and can be terminated at some Doctor's will. This is already accepted in some countries. You must remember that today you are twenty and tomorrow YOU will be eighty four and some youngster is going to decide whether you live or die. Age changes the reference point greatly.
How about the child that is deformed and that deformity is discovered in the womb. The child is then aborted for its own good and the good of the parents and for society. Does that mean that our veterans and the victims of accidents are now worthless and need to be euthanized. My God, I sincerely hope not.
The death penalty is no longer used in many states and is considered "cruel and unusual punishment". Again I ask, "What is the difference". Why should the perpetrator of a heinous murder or murders be allowed to live when these innocents are condemned to death?
