U.S. Embassy Under Siege 12/17/2016 8:54:45 AM
There has been over 200 American and U.S. government personnel that have been killed in the line of duty while serving at American diplomatic establishments in foreign countries which includes eight U.S. ambassadors. The dangers that American diplomats face while serving overseas came to light again in January of 1991 when the U.S. Embassy in Mogadishu Somalia was under siege by hostile Somali forces who begin placing ladders on the embassy compound walls preparing to assault. This is a true story based on the events of Operation Eastern Exit in which most Americans have never heard about. I share the story in detail in my book titled Night Mission To Mogadishu in which I was a member of the 60 man ground rescue force combined of 51 U.S. Marines and 9 Navy Seals from Seal Team 8
