Time and time again we make New Year’s resolutions about changing something in our lives, yet we find ourselves at the end of the year having done nothing. The problem is that we did not plan for the change. We did not plan for the strategy to bring our goal to completion.
You see preparation time is never wasted time. “You are the designer of your destiny, you are the author of your story”, says Lisa Nichols, CEO of Motivating the Masses.
When we hear a symphony play it sound almost poetic. Every musical note played with preciseness. This does not just happen automatically. The conductor supplements direction through verbal instruction in rehearsal. The raising of the hand means the performance is about to begin. Large shapes mean louder sounds. Just as the conductor guides the orchestra in a symphony, we are the conductor of our life story and it all begins in rehearsal, with a plan.
So how do we start is the question you may ask? First, get a vision of what you want to do. Secondly, write the vision. Make a step-by-step plan of how you are going to reach your goal. Lastly, walk it out. Do what you set out to do.
