I haven't written a lot in this blog.  I want to be better next year, but my life is so busy that I might not be able to.

I spend part of my days writing and the rest working on our land. It's winter now, so my husband and I spend the time in our woods cutting up and dragging out trees that have been felled by the wind. We live among the hills and mountains of New York State, and every year we have wind storms that uproot very young trees or topple older ones.

We cut these trees or branches into logs all year round and stack them for firewood. That is how we heat our house.

This past year has been eventful. We became grandparents of a beautiful baby girl, Maya. I also had two of my short stories published by Amazon.com as Amazon Shorts, The Gasman, the story of a lovable but amoral arsonist, and The Death of Betty Pinto, a mystery set in a soup kitchen. I also finished my new mystery novel and am looking for a publisher.
