reflecting on the recent loss of a loved one and the void it leaves As I sit here, passing a few minutes during my lunch break, I thought I would visit this site, which is my first visit in ages.
It is, however, that visiting is tinged with sadness as I associate this site more with my father-in-law, who sadly passed away suddenly at the end of November 2010. Peter Oszmann was a giant of a man who, despite having experienced some of the awful things that mankind can throw at each other, nevertheless maintained a wicked sense of humour.
For some strange reason (though it is probably the visit today to AD) I have been overcome with a reflective mood and hit by the reality of the chasm that has been left behind with his passing.
It would have been Peter's birthday on Sunday and at the suggestion of my wife, Peter's daughter, we planted a cherry tree in our garden to mark the occasion. May the tree thrive in the sunlight, stand strong in the cold and flourish for years to come.
